Dewdrop Dynasty looks amazing! I've been working hard on my first game while also working full time at an elementary school, so I feel you. Of course, my game is much simpler than Dewdrop, as I've limited the scope of the project to keep the goal reasonable. What started as "Oh hey, this Godot thing sounds cool, I should try it out" eight months ago now has 8/12 short levels and 3/5 fairly complex boss fights! Btw, Goodgis, if you're reading this, I would love to hear more about how you developed your pixel art style. It's phenomenal, and I'm more than a little bit envious! Pixel art is super difficult for me, and I don't know how to improve. Any tips or resources to recommend? Thanks! Edit: lol nevermind, just found your video directly answering that question! You rock!

Amazing video, and I need to say, the game looks hella interesting, even if 'old-school' 2D games aren't my type. One question I wanted to ask, because I'm in a similar boat (full time job/two-man team): how do you tackle design-heavy tasks? I find that these take me the most time, and are the most blocking. I'm able to write code fast enough to test a theory, or make a quick level greybox, however designing anything (mostly levels) puts me in anxiety overdrive. Especially when things depend on a story, but I need to make parts of the game to feel more inspired, it becomes a catch-22.
@Goodgis
@Goodgis 2 жыл бұрын
Great question! And honestly I feel you. It can be super overwhelming, but you need to start out with a really crappy first draft of an area and refine it based of the story and what feels right. Hopefully that helps. Cheers!
@LoxagosSnake

Can you make Mac and Linux versions of this game too. Also an Android version would be great.

Definitely Mac & Linux. Though mobile isn't on our radar right now.

I'm an aspiring game developer and wish to continue, this passion with c# I'd appreciate it if you have some tips to me. Ps I'm pretty new to c#
@Goodgis
@Goodgis 2 жыл бұрын
I've actually rarely used C# but the best advice I can give is to constantly learn. Watch tutorials and learn the fundamentals of programming. :D

@@Goodgis Ok I wil try and do that, also nice video. I'd like to also thank you for replying to me , I also tried to learn Godot with gdscript but I don't think it was made for brains like mine. I might come back to it after learning c# so at least I can try and do some thing with it. It also has support for c# if I am not wrong anyway thanks for making these videos and I look forward to more of them,keep up the good work!

I'm back from my trip to the future where I enjoyed your live stream with Reece! We had a lot of fun and if you haven't seen it, check it out...when it posts. I'm sure you are seeing this comment in the future, so why are you still here?! Go enjoy that live stream (even though it is over, there is great content and great advice on game development!) kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIS8eqOlrMqHl5I
