Brooke Ence has had a crazy year. She placed first in the highly competitive California Regional and went on to compete for her first time as an individual at the CrossFit Games. She placed 14th winning first in the Snatch Speed Ladder and the Clean and Jerk. Not bad for a rookie.
Watch to see how she trains, her diet and all of her antics outside of the gym. Find out more here: www.puori.com/...

When I was a kid and had just been diagnosed as diabetic, I was also playing sports... I really miss being on a 4,000 calorie a day diet. Eating a thousand calories worth of sandwiches, chips, milk, crackers, meat, etc.... It was fantastic. Now I have to work out twice as hard to eat that much :-/ Adulting sucks.

Type 1 here. Diagnosed 4 years ago now I'm 31. Been crossfitting fr 2years and it's a struggle for deiting cuz I'm hungry every 2 hrs. Insulin goes in me literally every 2 hrs. Kinda sucks but I'm used to it. Gained twenty pounds in that two years which is what I strive for.

+DblTimeFit I was like that when i played professional football in my early 20's.So i started with intermittent fasting and now i can go 18-20 hours without getting hungry, and i do 2 hours cross fit 5 days a week. My test&growth hormone is off the charge because of my fasting hours. Gained over 20 kg lean muscle in 3 years

She’s a very dedicated woman.. great athlete. The only down side to all of this is the fact that CrossFit competition has become so competitive that even the women have to do fitness enhancing illegal drugs to keep up with top elite athletes in the sport. We all know that staying healthy and exercising is great with so many benefits but at this level it is so detrimental and unhealthy, looking great now but paying for the drug use years down the road unfortunately is terrible. Too much of anything is never good. Just sayin not hatin

shane d .. Some people are stuck for the most part when it comes to work. They can't just find a better job because then they won't be able to pay rent and car insurance etc.. and they live in an area with little jobs. Moving away with no money to afford an apartment, No jobs hiring you before you move. Some people are stuck if they don't get a headstart while young and going to college while living with thier parents. There's so many things keeping people from your "it's your choice just change it" mentality. I'm not saying it's 100% impossible but some have it way worse then others.

Her dedication to training and diet is amazing, and she looks incredible. It should not be forgotten that she has a lot of sponsorships enabling her to do nothing but train and eat perfect food as a full time job. It would be exceedingly difficult for a normal human being to try and maintain that muscle mass and level of conditioning for any length of time.

+Mar kus the question is, does the story say if *all* kinds of bacon are linked to cancer? All bacon is not created equal. There's meat and then there's mass-produced, industial meat.For example, I think they'd be hard pressed to demonstrate that game meat causes cancer.
@schlegel98
@schlegel98 8 жыл бұрын
+Dee Xiao Long you probably mean the study the WHO quoted just recently to point out that processed red meat increases colorectal cancer risk. If the origin of the meat is organic or not, doesnt play a role concerning the cancerogenic properties.
@Alfador42
@Alfador42 8 жыл бұрын
Mar kus Processed basically means that it's not organic since organic meat ( this also and *especially* means game meat ) is usually eaten as it is, meaning without preservatives, colouring and any additives.
@schlegel98
@schlegel98 8 жыл бұрын
+Dee Xiao Long This discussion is getting a bit offtopic but processed actually means the meat has been cured, salted, smoked or preserved in some way, this does not necessarily contradict that the origin of the meat is organic and preserving it by above means is not making it less organic. And if the bacon is organic origin or not doesnt matter because it is red meat and it has been processed (salted in that case). Maybe read more here, if you are interested: www.who.int/features/qa/cancer-red-meat/en/

The positive thing about these KZbin videos is that a lot of different views of life by a lot of different people can be useful if it helps motivate you to work on becoming a better person. If this particular, doesn't do that for me, then please move on..... Spending you life throwing negative comments does little to sway others who find this positive.

A great example of what kind of bizarre life-styles can develop in a society, where food production and other basic necessities have long been taken care of. Lots of time to get silly. Imagine if her discipline and willpower was channeled into something productive!

I think the most impressive things about cross-fitters is their gymnastic skills, Their olympic lifting skills for the most part are descent. It take years of specialized training to perform olympic lifts properly. Brooke has a nice physique no question about it. Cross-fit is a tough sport at the elite level.

To say that the way you carry yourself is admirable. I love that you're you and you make no qualms about it. You're an inspiration. I'm a former fmf navy corpsman who served with the marine corps infantry so I can say I know mentally tough and you got it girl. Not afraid to say I wanna work out like a girl. Keeping the hook grip into the snatch is normal, but not the clean. I'd say 90% of the people dont have that flexibility and if they tried they strain their shoulder. Since you're going to be coming out of the hook grip anyways for the jerk, there's no time to release the hook grip better than when catching the bar.

+Jerry Yu Bro, did you come up with that 90% out of your ass? All the serious crossfitters at my box are taught to not release the hook-grip. Why would you release the hook-grip when the point of it is to save your grip for high reps of barbell movements? She wasn't going to be coming out of the hook-grip because she was doing squat cleans, not jerks, like you mentioned. Why would you even utilize a hook-grip when you're gonna use it for one rep and then ditch it for the rest of the reps? Lol.

+Jonesy right, but if u were a fan of CrossFit you'd see that they make these type of videos for the people that podium or almost made podium. But for some reason they have made numerous clips about this broad. I mean, maybe just cause she's got a nice body but many of these broads have nice bodies anyway. Just seems weird to me.
