Summary of dabawaalas-On Friday, a glittering statue was unveiled on one of South Mumbai’s busiest junctions. This is no ordinary statue. The massive artwork is a tribute to Mumbai’s famous “dabbawalas” . They start their day at 6 am,reach the work of place in the local and start delivering dabbas on cycles.They don't use motorcycles like swiggy deliverymen as it allows timely delivery and flexibility. They sleep at 9 pm. They have codes on dabbas to recognise who will and where to deliver. They don't usually take holidays but have provision for multi tasking if someone is sick. Their cap and cycle allows recognition. Distance decides price. They equally split the money earned.
