A Day In The Life Of Steve Jobs

Apple Explained

3 жыл бұрын

During an interview at the All Things Digital conference in 2010, Steve Jobs was asked what his day to day schedule at Apple was like. And Jobs replied, “What I do all day is meet with teams of people and work on ideas and new problems to come up with new products.” And, while that’s a pretty vague answer, it got me thinking what a day in the life of Steve Jobs was really like. So in this video, I’ll be explaining, in detail, Job’s morning routine, what he did at work, what he ate, and how he liked to relax.

Yeah, clearly he had great taste and extremely high standards. I owned many Apple products from Jobs' era and they did exude this intangible something that just attracted you to the products. I would sometimes just sit and marvel at the product instead of using it, they were that good. Apple products I think are still great now, but they have lost that magical something I feel...might just be placebo knowing Jobs is not behind them anymore, but I really think so.

I feel like many people think of Steve Jobs as this ruthless leader he was and very strict and everything, but I feel like this shows a different side in him And then Tim Cook is seen as the nice guy, while Apple Explained’s video on Tim Cook’s daily routine showed he was VERY intimidating.

@helloken
@helloken 2 жыл бұрын
@Bijan Mehrpour Yeah, I tend to agree. Money was not important to Jobs, money was important to APPLE, a company he was passionate about. Companies successes are often measured in profit. He did strive to make Apple very profitable, but that was his desire to make Apple successful, not for his own fortune. It would be unfair to say Jobs didn't care about money at all, but you can't fake living modestly. Reminds me of Warren Buffet. He is not driven by money, but his hobby, investing, is judged by how much money you can make. He is passionate about making great investments, not about money. And like Jobs, he lives very modestly.

Still find that family photo at 4:43 with his first child Lisa (standing beside him on the left; she was born out of wedlock with Chrisann Brennan, Steve's first girlfriend) amazing. The fact that he disowned them for the greater part of his younger life, then welcoming her to his family, is something interesting of Steve. Most of these I kinda knew from his autobiography as well as from Brennan's book "The Bite in the Apple".

Jobs intimidating personality is the worst kept secret on the planet.
@blackshadow7192
@blackshadow7192 3 жыл бұрын
I highly doubt this is true. Back then California didn't issue temporary license plates, so you could legally drive without a license plate for 90 days. Except many people would simply never bother putting one on their car, and since the police had to pull over every car without a plate to know if that car was newly registered they would let it slide 99% of the time. But in the case of Steve Jobs, he had been seen around driving his SL55 without plates for more than 90 days. So either people started making assumptions or this story was created by his "entourage" so that he would never have to worry about being bothered by the police.

Steve was a genius when it came to selling Apple’s products. It was his vision that steered the company to success. However, Job’s vision never would have come to fruition if it weren’t for Woz and the other Apple engineers, who were geniuses also. As you can plainly see, one could not succeed without the other. It was (more or less) a symbiotic relationship that required both sides to be truly successful.

It makes sense Jobs didn't commute until near 8:30-9 AM. Palo Alto to Cupertino can be the pits on 280 even southbound at times (altho south is often much better than north at that time of the day); going north in the afternoon-evening the same. At least that was my experience in San Francisco Bay Area for just under 30 years!
