For clarification, my role is more similar to a school-based therapist, however, I am a licensed social worker and do social work-related tasks. Just wanted to provide some clarity as I've been told that school social workers have a slightly different role than school-based therapists. Hello, My name is Onika and I graduate in December with my BSW from Eastern Kentucky University and have already been accepted into an advanced standing MSW program to begin in January of '25 so I'm literally wasting no time. I've known since I was very young (12-16) that this was the path that I wanted to take. I've also been working on my relationship with God as well - just trying to become a better person, for myself so that I can love others more deeply and compassionately.

Everyone automatically gets accepted into the advanced-standing program. The only problem is your only allowed to get two C's in the program so any lower grade after that, the schools will automatically take you out of the program, and you will have to do the traditionally way of getting your MSW, which will take 2 years verses getting your MSW in 6 months or 1 year with the advance standing program.

So what is your recommendation if department of social services had no warrant no paperwork whatsoever and had pd break into our home then took my children and put them in a home where there were all sexually molested . Made fraudulent reports, tried adding someone's else case to my name my oldest is now under weight and being put on medication for speaking out against his two adult male abusers that were in the foster home where there were all supposed to be safe .

Nemisus, I first want to say that I'm so sorry this has been your experience with social services. Your experience with those individuals is certainly not a representation of the field at large. Although I don't know the specifics of your case, I will say that social services (child protective services) are allowed to (by law) investigate suspected child abuse/neglect cases. I'm not sure what else might have caused them to go into your home and remove your kids. Again, I'm sorry this has been your experience and I hope you're able to get some help.
