Yes! Where I work we have to Sign our name if we got hurt or not. I'm 35 years and I sign my name cursive, all these 18/19 years Olds just Print their name.

We called it Penmanship when I was a child in the 60’s. It covered printing then by 8 years old we started cursive. I remember receiving an award for having mastered cursive. I’m 67 and still have all my awards and certificates I received during homeschooling. On occasion I will bring out my chest and show my grandchildren. I’m the middle of 17 and we each had a special chest my dad and grandpa made us and yes we all still have them ❤

I love to hear Chad’s stories, he’s mesmerising to listen to, such a good Daddy. The kids faces while listening to their Daddy is so precious. Carson's handwriting for such a young man is incredible! Evey is doing a fantastic job practicing here letters and penmanship! I wish I woke from sleep as happy as Finny looked, and Brookie helping read the bible time WOW! Holland is totally confident in coming up with ideas and making her decisions lol Erin gold medal for all you do while pregnant and inching closer to delivery with a homecooked meal, girl! Chad such a committed provider and still a smile when you come home and make time for your family. You got this family! Teamwork. You make it look... easy......it's ALL worth it. As my sons were growing, my home decor was decorating with toys, artwork, their projects, etc. There were, of course, times for pickup & put away, but not a worry. I also firmly believe that dust is the protective covering on the furniture, etc. and that my time & energy were best spent on them. Thank you for trusting us with a window to your world; "to get an imprint" as my Grandad use to say. Blessings to you all! 😊✝️

Y'all are a blessed family! This made me cry. I wish all children could grow up this way. I have 7 grandkids and 1 great grandson. None of the grandkids have had a father in their lives. My husband was the only influence they had. He went through a ten year battle with Parkinsons. We lost him August 21, 202. I pray the Lord blesses you all! I love and appreciate you all!

We used that same penmanship curriculum. LOVE how it gives American History along with working on handwriting. My daughter loved to read (graduated already), and adding that curriculum allowed her to gain insight on wonderful writings. I taught Abeka for 14 years…..I taught grades Kindergarten -5th grade over the years……our little Christian school had to close…..Seeing the workbooks brings back so many memories, that I am in tears, but they are good tears!!! 😊

One tip: Since my 4 kids were so close in ages, I chose one of the Bible video grade levels and made all 4 of my kids do it together first thing in the morning throughout the year; that way they sang the same songs, prayed together and learned the same Bible verses! 😊

Carson’s penmanship is beautiful! I am saddened that todays schools no longer teach cursive writing. Made me recall a story I heard of a grandmother who was writing in cursive to a friend and her grandson (pre-teen) saw the letter on the table. He then asked his grandmother what language it was!!

Erin, I admire you so much! I have 4 grown children, and they were homeschooled. You are right in that the days can be hectic, sometimes it doesn’t all go the way you plan (am I right?) I would like to share with you what my “hindsight 20/20” looks like. I think I always wanted to be on top of the game. There were at times stressful days, because - even if your kiddos claim to have Jesus in their hearts (as well as their mommy!) we are still “saved sinners”… if I could have a do over … on the tough days … I would be on my knees more and I would let my children see that. And, I know you have Bible lessons, reading and prayer, but I’m talking about those tough “mom days”! I know for certain the sacrifice to homeschool is not always a walk in the park. If I could go back, my children would see how their mom desperately needed her Savior. I would not try and seem together, but they would be able to hear their mom calling out to the Lord. They would see that - when the rubber meets the road - they too can get on their knees and pray for the Lord’s help. I guess in a nutshell I would acknowledge that when I am weak… Jesus is there! When I’m disappointed or hurt … or even feeling like I have a short fuse - they would see me go to “The One” who can renew me, sustain me and even forgive me!! God bless you and Chad, as you are on a mission to stand up for your family!! Then one day … maybe out of nowhere… you might also see one of your children on their knees … telling Jesus THEIR struggles! We love your family! ALL of them!!

Loved the God moment with the kids. It was very precious when Chad told them he didn’t give the Lord thanks like he should’ve . They may not totally get that part , but as they grow up they will have this memory . I also l love how mommy does breakfast and Bible … it’s refreshing to start with the Lord. Wow Erin even without make up you look beautiful. You are such a great mom. And you're right you can clean at night and when the day's activities are all over. You are very wise in how you follow your schedule for homeschooling, not by time, but by what needs to be done. It would 't be as stressful that way. Love how you do life and don't let stress get to you and seem relaxed about it. Life is too short and kids are so important, to spend the time with them as much as you can. Watching this made me miss when I was homeschooling my kids. So much bonding time. I loved having the time with my kids. Watching your kids play on the trampoline with Chad reminded me of when our kids were little and even teen-agers and they would sleep on the trampoline on the warm beautiful nights ,with pillows and sleeping bags.

We had a family of 10. When we we’re homeschooling in the 90s-2000s I always followed a similar schedule - Get up before the family - if possible. Shower, get myself ready, quiet time etc. Make my bed, put in a load of laundry. Empty dishwasher, prepare breakfast. Everyone up breakfast. Morning devotions. Morning chores and get ready for the day. Everyone makes their bed (older siblings help younger ones) and helps with whatever else needs to be done that day. 9am ish Start the school day. Keep the lessons short 20-30mins per subject when they are young. Break for morning tea and lunch. Before lunch everyone does a quick clean up. After lunch, everyone naps/quiet time for everyone including mum, it gives her time to put her feet up, have a short nap etc. 2-3pm Up outside playtime/reading etc. 4-5pm Laundry, other chores, dinner prep etc. 5:30 Dinner/Devotions 6:30 Bath 7:00 Bed. This schedule meant that we didn’t get as much schooling done in the early days but as the children got older, and we had less small children, we rested less and did more, so it worked out.
