ROLL CALL: Who would have kept it and who would have released it? I'll go first. I know I was fishing for food, but a big breeder female Barramundi like that... I just couldn't keep it. She should lay millions of eggs a year.

Mikey Cunningham agree mate! 58-80 !! Qld need to change the law from 120cm down to 90!
@rodashford11514 жыл бұрын
Yeah i agree, she should be breeding, i live in cairns Qld and think that our size needs to change to 58min 80max
@_Murky_4 жыл бұрын
Anything 90 and above let her go.
@normc0074 жыл бұрын
Well done Mike. Of course you let her go. It wasn’t on Flanders, but you will recall that way back when I was the majority shareholder in Flanders, anything over 80CM went back. Still a good policy. And I know you would not have even considered killing her. Good on you.
@brendanwilkie75984 жыл бұрын
Mikey a good call overall. I would say if your cupboard was bare and food was a priority then and it was only thing available then on plate would not have been an issue. Otherwise I applaud your restraint. Cracker tussle with the big girl though......bet the heart rate was up.

Funny you say that... the following night the news reported a croc chased a fisherman at that exact spot. Pretty crazy. Probably not the smartest thing me getting in the water like that.

Hey do you know how to catch mullet without a cast net
@MikeyCunninghamFishing4 жыл бұрын
You can get little bait net things. I can remember my dad using one when I was a kid. They are like the size of a case of beer with small circle entry holes on each end. Just make sure to check your local rules and regulations. Cast net is the way to go if you’re allowed to throw one where you are.

Barras turn into scavengers at certain tides an times of the year . Sometimes they will take a dead bait more then any live bait
@MikeyCunninghamFishing4 жыл бұрын
Yea interesting. I can't remember the last Barra I caught on a piece of dead bait.
@tobyneill214 жыл бұрын
Well done releasing it too man. Many people wouldn’t have kept it especially at this times. But it’s still a breeder fish an wouldn’t taste to great. Well done showing her respect an putting her back!!

Good Barra for rubbish creek but I sure as shit would have be eating crabs out of there Super high levels of PFAS , all the storm water run off from the uni and boat load of rubbish
@MikeyCunninghamFishing4 жыл бұрын
I hadn't thought of any of that mate. At least it gets a good flush out every day. Particularly on the bigger tides.
