Just wanted to post a 'Thank You' here: I've watched your videos for some time now and truly enjoyed your passion for turf. I was kind of down out and decided to quit my job and take a grounds crew position on a golf course (no experience and scared as hell). I began to lose weight and quit drinking pretty much altogether (5am wake-ups don't exactly go well with drinking into the night). I started a KZbin channel because of the joy/confidence you seem to gain through these videos. Albeit it is in its' infancy, I've never been happier putting myself out there. Thank you for the impact you, and your videos, have had on my life...I look forward toward the next one. Thanks again.

Great job using what little space you have. My dad happens to be in golf course maintenance and has a degree in turf grass management. Luckily though, we live in the country leaving us with our beautiful 35’ x 17’ bent grass green. Great job mate!

many years ago i created my own green on my front lawn ..I had nothing but a rotary mower but with super sharp blades ..I sprayed out the weeds and top dressed it several times and sowed the low spots ..I was genuinely surprised how much speed i got out of it . I put two old golf cups from our local club that the pin flanges had worn out on so the flag leaned too much with and spent countless hours practicing my putting and small chipping of an evening ..The same lawn now is full of weeds and too far gone to do it again but I really enjoyed your video ...Thanks..

If you mow the green in the morning or even blow or roll the dew off it will significantly help with the dead spots on the green because the morning dew causes short grass to get diseases and die off.

You can even cut this shorter, I work on a golf course and we cut our greens to .135 an our tees to .4 inches

Hi Sir. Very nice video. I like to give you some Bentgrass for your green. Try Crystal Bluelink Bentgrass from Outside Pride Company. Also have you done vertical cutting? Also you need to dress your green. Take Care.

Hi, I know there are a few grass species that can tolerate low mowing (rye grasses and some fescues), can I ask why bentgrass is your personal choice? I was asked last week to create a putting Green at a customers property Cheers... Shaun

Bentgrass tends to creep across the ground which causes a very thick coverage , browntop/creeping bent that we use in the UK can also tolerate the low HOC. Bent leaves are also very broad which makes it great to put on, its also quite a hard wearing grass in comparison to fescue. Hope this helps 👍

@@LawnTips Cool. I'm working on a new green reno myself, and got some good advice from you and others. It's similar to yours except a couple more bare spots which is annoying, however temps are still up and I just scarified and seeded with some starter fert. Slow release for the winter and I'm hoping with all the sanding, rolling and cutting it has two legs to stand on in April.
