My condolences! It's hard to witness "progress" that thrills developers who never would live there if you paid them. I vividly remember the time frame when my small NW TX town began losing residents. It started in the 1960s with business owners moving to the bigger town for better schools. They were school board members here and saw the direction we were going long before the rest of us did. Now only blue collar labor force people live here. They can't finance a nice house without renting rooms to illegals they sponsor and use to get gov't grants to help with home repairs - better windows, or get a new gov't subsidized roof. Our grocery store closed 5 yrs ago. It was only essential to elderly people who could no longer get a driver's license and drive 20 miles for better selection. Our churches are empty. I have no idea how the big Baptist or Methodist churches can afford to keep a good roof after cov9teen wiped out our oldest deacons who donated and raised money since the Baby Boom had attendance bursting the seams. Now they could meet in a living room. Can't afford a preacher anymore. Prospective new members are overwhelmed when they join our church and find the burden on the able is higher than they could have ever imagined. They vanish.

Robert, You are working so hard to bring the farm and equipment together. I was browsing the internet and saw where some person claimed it wasn't yours and then I read more and all the remarks about what a great person you are and your integrity. I've seen your family genealogy but is that other sad soul related to you? I hope the situation has been settled because you deserve to be the generation that makes The Byrd Farm a real tribute to the past. Waverly Hall is an example of what America was like before insanity started. Cheers, Rik Spector
@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG
@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG Жыл бұрын
Yes. Unfortunately that sad soul is related to me. She was sadly jealous that I became owner of the farm, and decided to make her own unfounded accusations. She did all of this AFTER she was busted stealing from not only me - but also my grandmother - out here on the farm. Unfortunately the truth of the matter is, she suffers from mental illness and does not seek help for it. Since she has been legally trespassed from the property. But anyway, deed is in my name and I pay the taxes (unfortunately on paying the taxes - they just went up this year 😳)

Those Sunflowers are beautiful. One of my favorite flowers. I suggest you take the seeds out after flower has died. Replant them later. The birds will pick ‘em clean n squirrels like em too. At least here in Florida they’ve eaten mine dry. 😅 Wow! That peach tree has really grown. It’s all filled out. I remember when planted it. I love your little town n appreciate you taking us along for the ride. I noticed you only live down the road from the post office. I hope one of those packages you mailed was for me 😀. I did order something. You really know your way around cars n trucks. Today’s young men have no clue about automobiles. Stay cool Robert. It’s hot here in Florida too. You can cut the humidity with a knife. ♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟🐶

That rolling pin looks like the one my grandmother owned. I still have it. You may want to harvest some of those sunflower seeds for next year when they’re mature. I break off a flower head when it’s done blooming and let it dry out indoors. I use half pint canning jars to store them. Write what kind of seeds they are on the lid.

Very cool sunflowers. You might want to save some of their seed. When I tried to grow them the birds, squirrels and chipmunks had a field day and everything was gone. Of course, our winter might make it worse because they need more energy and everything is picked clean. The only thing I ever had that came back up from seed were morning glory’s that I didn’t want. Noticed what looked like wisteria growing up on the truck grill. Yikes, that is crazy stuff. Do have a short question. Do you have heavy duty seat belt laws there? We definitely do and even in such a small town as the one I lived near at one time the police would sit beside the roads checking vehicles out. Of course, we do live about 20 miles or so out of the state capital of Michigan, so maybe they are worse here. Anyway enjoyed your day, so thanks for the video.

We live in Florida where it often stays in the mid to high 90's with 100% humidity. It will suck the life right out of you quickly! You have to work in the early morning or late afternoon, and then you still have to take frequent breaks and drink lots of water. Heat exhaustion and/or heat stroke are real dangers in that kind of weather.
