Having a tractor with various implements is so necessary for a farm. I've got a tiny 20HP one with a loader, mower and box blade. While it doesn't have the power yours does it still helps me so much on my terribly overgrown and rocky 10 acre property. It's crazy, I enjoy watching you work on your property while I'm taking a break from working on mine. But oh if I only had a 140 year old beautiful home looming around my work!!

I've got a few native Azalea cultivars I planted around here too. Lots of Japanese stuff, but wanted to pull in natives as well. Also put in a line of Aronia, Arrowwood and Highbush Cranberry Viburnum along the back lot for a native hedge. Few Button Bush and Service Berry as well. Get the native plants in for the native critters. 👍🌱🌱

What great work Robert. Sometimes we have to clean up to move forward. Im a visual person so the vision of a pea gravel path from the house to the garden came to my mind. Most of it straight but in the midpoint you make a circle and put the fountain/birdbath right there. Also once you took that first bush out, I thought wow he should put all his vintage cars up to the vintage concrete wall. Like its a showcase. I think it would be so cool. One spot for them all to sit and when people drive by, like me, you can see them. But thats just me....

Robert, to see the Joy in your fact after you got that privet up and outta the ground was Priceless. I agree with you on the location of property in front of the wall on the side of the house , to plow it and turn over the soil. It Will bring up a lot of westeria vines, but will also turn the soil over, which would be great for it for either more planting or just to reseed with grass, for now. That Little orange Kubota has been a real blessing to you since you got it, and you has helped you 10 fold in getting all that you have been doing to clear the land, much faster, and easier as well. Have you figured out what you plan on doiung with that very marshy area on the other side of where the wall is, where all that natural spring water is coming from, as far as a better drainage issue?? also wondering, if there is a natural spring there, that maybe at some point you can tape into and drill a well there?? My husband looking at this video said, Robert never gives up, and I smiled and said, look at all the work he has done in the last two years, and all that he has accomplished! awesome. You have a lot to ber proud of Robert. May God continue to bless you and all your family.

Old houses speak to me, I’d rather have an old home rather than a newly built. The restoration is part of the enjoyment, seeing it come to life is very fulfilling. I’m wondering if you have a plan on working on the actual house itself? I’ve never seen a privet that big or knew they exist.

Are any of your children old enough to help on the farm? That axle and wheel you moved along with donated siding is intriguing. Seems there should be a way to bury the axles a few feet in concrete and then use the wheel to hang plants from or use it as a tomato trellis. One of my fav areas of the farm is the patio with a cinderblock wall.

I would never have taken the smooth, single point leaf as being anything to do with holly, for m, the more points the better and maybe some white edging for extra effect. But I guess we are all different. As for a 40 or 50 foot tall privet bush, all |I can say is 'Wow' no wonder you wanted it to leave town in a manner of speaking. Still, well done you achieved your aims, one of the best goals of gardening is to have aims you can achieve. That way, you can feel able to come back to tomorrow, and carry on where you left off, while still walking away with your feelings intact.

It good to get back to native fauna and flora. 👍👍 In the UK we have the Victorian Gentlemen to thank for the invasive species, they brought back tons of plants form thier journeys around the globe. The very worse is Japanese knotweed, anything you cut off and leave will root.

I'm thinking they did not realize the problem with bringing plants from another part of the world over. Someone released some house sparrows and starlings in New York city around 1900 because Shakespeare mentioned them and they spread like crazy competing with native birds for nesting areas etc. They're more aggressive because they come from a more populated area.
