If you do a full course in ikebana, towards the end (and after quite a few years of studying) you have to teach. Thank goodness for that because in our fairly out of the way farming community, one farmer's wife did this and I was able to have a couple of year's lessons. I just loved it. Not everyone makes a good teacher but thanks to those (like you) who do.

I currently do work shops and the odd demo for our local flower club and ladies clubs. Now considering exploring the possibility of running short courses in schools to encourage younger people into the world of flower art and arranging. I'm supposed to be retired!! Janx

This was so interesting!! You're very right about getting out of your comfort zone, most of the time we are very glad that we did! I really enjoyed seeing the house and the grounds and the map showed they have a cutting garden as well! Very fun to go along with you for the day!
