A day trip in Istanbul | Turkey | Layover city tour | By Turkish Airlines |

Hey Guys. I am Shreya Divate.
In this video, I will take you through the historical city of Istanbul. On my way back to Manchester from India, I had my layover at Istanbul, and luckily enough Turkish Airlines had a fully sponsored city tour program for all the passengers flying with them who had their layover more than 4 hours.
It was a wonderful use of the layover time and I genuinely enjoyed the city tour arranged by them to famous landmarks of Istanbul like Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Sehzada Mosque, Grand Bazaar, and Galata Tower. Cannot wait to visit Turkey again.

Hi, thanks for the video. If you want to buy something, do you need to convert usd to Turkish lira? Also, are credit cards accepted there?

Hey. Yes, credit cards work almost everywhere. And also you can get your cash converted into Lira at the airport if you need.

Which tour did you do? From what time to what time? And was it mostly on the bus or did you get many chances to walk around and take pictures?

I did the evening tour. They take you from the airport to the city centre in the bus and the rest of the tour is a walking tour, as all major attractions are nearby to each other.

You can exchange USD for lira at the counters at the airport. Outside airport I am not sure they will accept any other currency.

My flight will land at 12 am midnight .. is there any provision between 12 am to 8 am before the tour starts to stay at the airport ?

You can either choose their city tour option or a night stay in their airport hotel if your layover is longer than 6 hours . Please check latest information on their website.

Hi. I have queries related to Touristanbul. We are taking BOM-IST flight which will land 11.35am and have next flight 7.45pm. Is it possible to take 12-6pm Touristanbul tour?

Seems unlikely cause the flights are usually a lil delayed and given the size of the Istanbul airport, even if you land at the right time, it’s going to take you almost an hour to clear immigration and reach the Turkish airlines travel desk from where the tour begins. :/

You can carry your luggage or store it in the luggage lockers at the airport on hourly basis. It’s your choice and your responsibility. Whichever feels convenient for you.

Yes. It is. If you want to exit the airport you need a visa. No matter for how long.

Yes. Indian passport holders can apply for e-visa on the official website. They don’t need other visas.

Bruh plz explain in detail .What type of visa and Howto get it .how to choose destination or tour plan .and whb hotel or stay- we need to do by our own? Or not required id layover is 8-9hrs

Hi. 1. It was an e-visa and you can get it within minutes when applied through the Turkish govt website. 2. Mine was a pre planned tour arranged by Turkish Airlines. However, you can find more information online and plan according to your budget. 3. My layover was for 16 hours and after my tour I spend the rest hours at the airport only. You can book a room at one of the airport hotels but that’s on your own expense depending on when is your next flight scheduled for.
