That's how it usually works on a game show: they record multiple episodes in one day to minimize studio costs and maintain a sense of continuity with the contestants. You wouldn't want your returning champion to have to drive to the studio every day. Also if you have celebrity guests (like on Match Game or Pyramid) you only have them for a day so you get as much bang for your buck as you can. Some of the prime-time shows (WWTBAM, Deal or No Deal) need a full 8-hour day to tape a single game because they want multiple takes of introductions, reaction shots, etc. Those are the really laborious ones to sit through.

He's explained it several times: first he reads over the clues for that day, if there's any debateable answers or words he's not sure how to pronounce he gets that cleared in a meeting with the writers and producers, then wardrobe and makeup, tape 2 games(changing clothes after each game),break for lunch, tape 3 more games. Done.

Unfortunately he won't be able to , his cancer is in the final stage which is stage 4 so he is basically living out his final days , he chose to continue with working instead of giving up his position. Eventually in the very near future his life will sadly come to an end.

Unfortunately he won't get better , he has stage 4 pancreatic cancer which is the (nothing else we can do for you ) stage he will die one of these days in the near future if and it will end faster if he goes off of chemotherapy that's if he's even on chemo, he'll die within about two or three days after stopping.
