The type of milk we’re talking about is different. Kenyans produce milk. Fresh milk so you can easily have a glass. In Ghana, we use evaporated milk, ie they evaporate some of the water in the milk so it’s very concentrated and so you don’t use a lot at a time. It helps to make packaging and transportation easier, since Ghana does not produce milk in large quantities and a lot of milk is imported. If you have had it, you realise evaporated milk actually tastes much sweeter than fresh milk. So no one drinks a glass of evaporated milk world wide. You’re supposed to reconstitute it with water in case you want to have a glass of it.

Trudy, when you married to west African's person, you married to the whole family, that is why we refer you or call you our wife. Please be patient with our brother 'Wode Maya', patient will helps you overcome any thing in life and much more so, you will enjoy the family you married into because, you are loved and they adore you. Your husband brought his mother to spend some time with you during your last birthday celebration in Nairobi, Kenya, he is doing this for you to know and understand his mother well so that two of you can get along very well. You should by now know and reflect back to some of the discussions you have with Maya when.he always said that three women in his life are his mother, Miss Trudy and, his sister before she got married.. Maya is mother boy, and men that takes care of their mother always take care of their wife.aswell. You're dad's girl because you always talk about your dad as well and that's the way is suppose be.. Some people might have issues, why I'm saying all this because some of the empty and hollow noises out there on the social media on your one year wedding anniversary. Wishing you many years of celebrating wedding anniversary to come that will put your haters to shame.Amen!! Great interaction with your brother in law and seeing you all together including your husband was heart warming and, refreshing or reassuring. Please have more of this in future. Have a nice week and best regards to your husband and, to everyone in the family.

It's fascinating to watch your interactions...the differences in culture are eye opening. I'm in the Caribbean where our islands are separated by miles of ocean, but I see that whether it's miles of land or water, the differences exist all the same, but I think the colonizers have left their imprints all over.

I live in the US and I noticed that my West African friends use Nido ( powder milk)or evaporated milk for their "Tea" which is not tea... it's really cocoa, coffee etc 😂 In Kenya that is unheard of regardless of financial status we use fresh milk. I'll probably attribute it to availability... maybe there's less dairy farming in the region.

The types of milk we’re comparing are different. Kenyans produce milk. Fresh milk so you can easily have a glass. In Ghana, we mostly use evaporated milk, ie they evaporate some of the water in the milk so it’s very concentrated and so you don’t use a lot at a time. It helps to make packaging and transportation easier, since Ghana does not produce milk in large quantities and a lot of milk is imported. If you have had it, you realise evaporated milk actually tastes much sweeter than fresh milk. So no one drinks a glass of evaporated milk world wide. You’re supposed to reconstitute it with water when you want to have a glass of it, but people just pour the quantity they need straight into their beverages or porridges which is also fine. Fresh milk is available (but not easy to find) and it’s really not as expensive as evaporated milk, however, the fresh milk in the tetrapaks found in the supermarket is expensive. If you find a dairy farm you can have fresh milk at good prices, but they are very difficult to find. Easier to get some on the university campuses that have farms as well.
