Why can't they do both or at the very least, work with people who actually understand how music works? One example I can think of is Dawko. He still makes KZbin videos, but he also collabs with other KZbinrs to help make make original FNAF songs, along with with great animations to accompany them. Not to mention all the songs are complete bangers.

I went to a punk concert last week and the first band that played I had never heard of, and I doubt much of the audience had either- I don’t think they were even on the poster. Even then, they were able to absolutely kill it in setting the energy for the rest of the show. They were amazing! After a few songs, the guitarist crouched down at the edge of the stage and gave me her guitar pick. It was the most special, most appreciated I had felt in ages. I can’t describe it, but I felt like the center of the entire world in that moment. I am not going to forget that. I held tightly onto the pick for the rest of the set. The audience in dream’s show are probably superfans, maybe some have come a long way to see him. Maybe they paid a lot, I don’t know. Yet, his stage presence is just… kind of pathetic. Maybe you just had to be there or something, but the audience doesn’t even sound super receptive to him. He just isn’t really a musician in that regard, I guess. Just a guy standing on a stage.

I might sound a little harsh in this comment and I want to make clear that I was a Dream fan. But the song about Technoblade always rubbed me the wrong way. The way the video was shot, the lyrics, the way Dream acts when he sings it live. To me it feels like Technoblades death affected him in a weird specific way. The way he talks about impact, it's almost like he wants to be Technoblade in that way. To be remembered when he dies. Its about Technoblade but it centers Dream. It doesnt feel like he remembers Alex, only Technoblade. The song might have his fathers approval but we will never know how Alex might have felt about it, or if he would approve or dissaprove it. Also if the comment reads weird english is not my first language

that’s how i feel about it as well, honestly. i know it’s how people can cope and stuff was okayed, but it would just feel so weird to me to use a talk about loss in the way he portrayed it. i know so many other artists who have made songs about grief and losing someone, but those feel much more authentic and genuine compared to until i end up dead. it might be the lyrics or the style of the song, but i think he could’ve taken more time and consideration into how to express grief and loss in a way that didn’t feel so “me, me, me, i, i, i” if that makes sense

THANK YOU for addressing how weird his song for technoblade felt. I couldn’t put into words why it grossed me out so much but You really put it perfectly: “it’s not a song about Clay and Alex, it’s a song about Dream and Technoblade.” Dream being so obsessed with his image ruins his attempts to be genuine. Correction for 3:10 Joji always wanted to make music but Filthyfrank as a project took over his musical career. A sign he always wanted to make music was the song breaks in many filthyfrank videos, and most importantly towards the end of filthyfrank, he did release the Pink Season album. @@Dog_In_Disguise it's a joke based off of creepy guys who will ask people (usually women) for a hug every time they meet, even if they are not very close like acquaintances or co-workers. the goal being to 'feel them up' as well as to stroke their ego; in being able to make others (women) to do what they say, as if they have a right to a hug from who-ever they want. in a more general sense, asking other people for hugs with the phrasing of "where is my-?" rather than "can i have-?" gives the impression that the asker is intitled to a hug. however, no matter the relationship or intent, hugs are very intimate and can be uncomfortable for some people under some circumstances. hugs are sick (/positive) when reciprocated by both participants but otherwise can be awkward and uneasy. tldr - asking strangers to hug you is weird. thank you for joining us on the latest entry of me randomly going way too in-depth to answer a simple question on a completely unrelated youtube video, no i didn't use ai, i have autism. :3

To me, there's something very unsettling about a grown man in a child-friendly area like Minecraft KZbin, especially one who's had prior allegations of inappropriate conduct with minors, making a music video where he's portrayed himself with an incredibly young-looking character. Even in the real-footage music video, half the scenes are of grown adults acting like children would play in pillow fights and making snow angels. It's the sort of self-infantilisation that a groomer would use to make themselves more approachable to kids. And then he uses lyrics in another song about a scenario with a blatant power dynamic like a fan at the front row of a celebrity's stage show to describe an intimate relationship. The whole discography, to me, paints an image of a man who doesn't see the fundamental protective boundaries that should exist between child fans and adult creators. It honestly reminds me of Colleen Ballinger's "I just wanted to be besties with everybody."

while both aren't great people, I'd dare to say that what's interesting is that Wilbur Soot and Dream both made songs about Technoblade. It's worth looking into "Around the Pomegranate" off of Wilbur's Mammalian Sighing Reflex and compare it to Dream's "Until I End Up Dead" and see the level of musicality differences, but the sincerity and emotional tributes. I think Dream's is a lot more self-centered about him and how he is now with Technoblade's passing, versus Wilbur's which is about how he is in the absence of a friend. It'd be a neat comparison considering they're about the same person and youtubers with musical moments, idk.

Dream has such a love-hate relationship with connecting with his audience as a person, so he hasn't been able to communicate any of the experiences he has that I'm sure are actually interesting or evocative. At 8:36, this line is most likely a made up story. He said he learned to wheelie from a KZbin vid when he was 6 which would mean a video uploaded before August 12th 2006, his 7th birthday. Using KZbin’s date search feature I scoured the site for videos that existed when dream was 6 that were tutorials of how to wheelie on a bike. I could not find a single one, so either this wheelie tutorial was deleted off of youtube, or dream’s story isn’t 100% right.

@@allinoryI find it's weird how dream got popular off of minecraft once and right after idiots start using him as a scapegoat to go harass and berate the guy going as far as falsely accusing him of being a pedophile and commiting crime he never did. I never understand why they hate him so much. It doesn't help that from what I've gathered dream seems to act like an annoying fuck in the sense that he's utterly helpless at controlling his feral fan using them to do his bidding and generally behave like an autist online engaging with trolls were he shouldn't interact with. But I don't understand why people seem to have a death grip towards dream going as far as doxxing the guy stalking him to his own home taking pictures of his family and following him in public, like there are more important issue going on what is special with dream seriously? Sure dream is annoying but taking your sweet time to create fake discord messages and dms in order to "expose" him is literally the most unemployed behavior I've ever seen. None of this is surprising considering most of the hate towards dream are coming from minors and attention seeking women ☕ who accuse dream of "grooming" them to satisfy that near obsessed autistic level of hate towards seeing the guy comes crumbling down, bat shit crazy insane. They have this strong of a reaction most probably because just the fact that dream comes across as a white male and popular too although a bit retarded triggers this sense of injustice in them so much that they imagine seeing his downfall like taking down white supremacy itself. That and since dream has made some "transphobic" statements in the past aswell as supporting Israel (((Dream last name is Cohen btw))) most of the women ☕ who day dream of dream grooming them and the people who supports this kind of behavior because "h-he's just is annoying... alright???" sure will cheer all the same when someone else more annoying plays the scapegoa, preferably actually white with blue eyes. I couldn't care less for dream shlomo and his suspicious rise of fame definitely not to nepotism but this behavior by the 🌈 is definitely concerning when looking at the people they may target in the future and the consequences it has if this mob like behavior is normalized and what does it mean to the 80% of society while 14/50. Until I End Up Dead always leaves a bad taste on my mouth...even if Technodad approved it, it just felt like Dream needed to make a tribute without carefully planning it out. Death can be celebrated if you change the grim perspective of it, but man this song just felt shallow

There's an existential level of vapidity going on here. It seems like he's writing not because he has something to say, but because he feels like he "should" have a music career. Like it's a vehicle for notoriety rather than an actual artistic endeavor. He knows that the lunatic fanbase he's cultivated will support him, no matter how bad he is. They'll defend him for not being technically proficient by saying he's "just starting out his career". The obsession with his own brand is why non-fans don't trust him, because the only thing behind the mask is a neurosis about trying to keep the image pristine.

Dream and his group of pals are just the Disney kids of the KZbin generation. These guys were thrust into a spotlight in their teens, with all of the inflated ego that comes from being privileged, and were expected to take that on gracefully. They have fucked up… IMMENSELY. But the way people talk about them almost makes you forget they have been under a microscope since they were minors. Shit I’m surprised none of em have OD’d by now. Again, there are consequences for their actions, and I hope they grow/learn. But you make a point that people fucking HATE this guy. And I just can’t muster up such negative feelings toward a guy as milquetoast as Dream is. He’s just some guy to me. Y’all remember Nash Grier from Vine? Following his terrible foray into acting, he met a girl. They fell in love and now have 2 kids together. They now make cute little family updates and he’s grown up. Why I bring this up is, there’s a grace needed to let these guys grow up. Clay is 24 now. Everyone barks in his direction and continues to dance on his grave. But at 24, I was out clubbing with some friends of mine. I was just a face in the crowd. He doesn’t get that. He can’t just be a 24 year old dude. I guess… maybe… that’s what the point of the mask is… Nah I’m kidding. But seriously, I just don’t feel anything toward him. He’s just a dude. Dudes can rock or they can suck. But at the end of the day, they’re just dudes. Nothing more

22:56 this _is_ actually pretty normal (at least at the few concert venues i've been to). when the house lights are up, they will play music off a playlist. it's just something small to make the wait for the start of the show/between sets more enjoyable. to use your food metaphor: if the opening act is the appetizer, the music off the speakers is the water or free breadsticks. just something to satiate you while you are waiting for what you're actually spending money on.

The instrumental solos are definitely the best part of the concert. That stuff would definitely be killer actually in songs and would be really cool to build off of. Just from the clip of when I die or whatever its called it actually sounds sorta cool, but the tone of the song definitely doesn't fit and is rather inappropriate honestly. Songs about serious topics can be high energy and even up-beat, but a song about the loss of someone, not so much...

Dreams music lyrics feels like something that a 4th grade english teacher would give their students for a poetry unit. Its pretty easy to understand, straightforward in its meaning and its so consise with word choice. I wouldnt say this would by default make your music bad, but it certainly doesnt have flourish.

The until I end up dead song is the best of Dream’s music carrier and as someone who is a huge fan of the guy and have a lot of context behind the public dynamic between him and late Technoblade, I can say that the song is way more interesting than most people would assume. It does not feel tone-deaf nor in poor taste and has a bunch of details alluding to the deeper parts of his and his friend’s relationship. At the end of the day the song is about Dream’s coping with the loss of his friend until it develops into him deciding to dedicate the rest of his craft to him and do what he loves until he ends up dead as Techno did, it is a celebration of what Techno stood for rather than Dream just saying how sad he is, it is really not about him. The video does add a lot of stuff to the deeper meanings yet again which is not a good part of it but as a packaged deal I would say the song is like a light 7 out of 10. Would not listen to it much, it is not good music but it is a good artwork. Dream is not a good musician but he is best when he is fully himself.

I will say, having music before the concert is fairly popular. The ones I've been to, the music was either the artist's music remixed, OR it was a curated playlist by the artist that went down really well because we knew she made it and put thought into it. But this was a more niche artist, so the music was very clearly specific to the audience. All Tame Impala, Olivia Rodrigo and Dream have in common is their popularity, which is why it's weird how he did it. in my opinion anyway

as a fan of his minecraft content who cannot understand whatever he's trying to do with his music career, this video managed to pinpoint exactly how i was feeling about dream's music. i completely agree with the idea that he definitely has many interesting things to write/sing about but manages to just never talk about anything real? how generic and forgettable his music remains to me is crazy. to me it all boils down to the fact that he's still quite young and grew up an adult under extreme pressure, i mean, it must leave you pretty damaged in your own identity. i hope he finds a way to keep doing what he loves without caring so much about his image/trolls/etc. i guess he just needs to grow up (in the most positive way possible) anyway this video made me discover your channel and makes me want to watch the rest of your content, i just suscribed!
