Thank you for posting this and giving back to the sport. Wish there was a bit more editing, however. When we watch the dogs run, it would be so useful to hear the judges critique the run. I know that would mean permission from the handlers but I am sure there are many people who would be willing to do that. Talking about what one judge would do in certain circumstances is great but not without the dog work. Maybe asking the judges to critique a number of dogs' runs, from walking up to the line, to the dog's attitude on the line, to whether a dog was still in the AOF, etc., would be very compelling video. And it probably would be better to use actual first-time handlers and dogs running a junior type of test, rather than training group members who have handling experience and have run a lot of junior tests. Maybe you could have a fun junior test at your club in which first-time handlers and dogs can participate if they agree to be videotaped and recorded and critiqued by judges? You have a gem of a channel here. Thanks again.

Thanks! I like the idea of judge's commentary during dogs running. Senior video will have some comments from the judges dubbed in as the dogs run. Shooting these live is always a balancing act between getting good close footage and not ruining anybody''s run by getting in the way. So not always ideal. Thanks for watching.

There are tons of hunt tests in TX. Go to entryexpress.net and set up an account to login. Choose AKC Hunt tests and most will be listed there.

Would it be best that a handler remove their dog from the test if the handler has to restrain it from breaking? This is an opportunity to make correction but is not allowed. (The dog is getting away with bad behavior)

2 schools of thought. 1- you paid your entry fee so just go for it or 2- by letting the dog misbehave you are rewarding them by letting them get the birds. I think it depends on what your ultimate goals for the dog are.

Only if there are separate tests with different judges happening on that day.
