you can use command center in hx to send whatever program change to tonex (using instant 1) you can also for example send different pc to tonex using the switches

This may be a stupid question, but how would I live edit the tonex in conjunction with the HX Stomp? For example, I’m using the Stomp as my interface and the Tonex is in the FX loop of the Stomp. Do I also need to put the Tonex in interface mode in order to live edit in the software?

I thiiiink I've been in the same position as you before and my workaround was just to just use the tonex and helix native plugins within a daw to tweak the actual sounds of the preset, and then drop those saved presets onto the pedals lol idk if thats the easiest way, but it made the most sense to me

Great video! Very informative. Quick question, since you're not really maxing out the HX's DSP, what's the biggest reason to use these two pedals in tandem? With the new ToneX update, which now allows FX to be used alongside captures, do you think you'd be able to do what you do, with only the ToneX?

I was using both because I wanted the amp sounds from tonex, not from the HX. Whenever this new tonex firmware drops, I'll be switching to just the tonex as my pedal and my HX will be a backup.

What do you have the input trim/volume levels on the Tonex and hx stomp? When I put the Tonex into the effects loop on the HX Stomp it's super loud and buzzy especially on high gain models like the 5150 Tonex preset. How do you have these pedals input vols set up? I have the input trim on Tonex at 0 db and have not touched the HX Stomp. I really want to use the Tonex with the HX Stomp, but I'm ready to ditch it and just use the HX stomp by itself due to the volume/noise issue with the Tonex in the effects loop.

Hi there, I'm thinking to try this setup, either tonex+hx stomp or tonex+HXFX. When it comes to programming, you basically use the stomp buttons to change "songs" and then the tonex buttons to have different presets in songs right? What if you have a song where you have a rhythm sound but then a patch with delay and flanger for example? You have to make a new patch in the stomp, as tonex doesn't have effects in its own right? Thanks!!

yeah basically. I have one song in my set list where I have a lead tone with a lot more effects, and I went that route of making a new "song" preset in HX, and that change also triggers a higher gain amp in my tonex.

ehhh its hard to tell. my pickups in my guitar are a bit noisy already

You should have an EQ (10 band/15dB+/-) at the end of the chain to cut some harsh, unpleasant frequencies and enhance the fine ones. Also to make the sound less flat.

I might do that. The sounds I have are typically suited for a better overall live mix and are straight from the mix stem project
