I remember watching this movie at tha theater, I was 15 years old and this movie affects me so. When moms opened that letter n Ricky scored that 710... I was heartbroken. So was everybody in tha theater, shit was devastating.

I really appreciate this video. Seen the movie countless times. But saw it again yesterday first time in 10+ years. Was a totally different movie. Such a strong message from a young bright director. Some of the brightest stars in culture were in their early 20's , look at Pac's accomplishments at that age. Bless their souls.

Just saw your breakdown on franklin, and now after seeing this, I hope you do more hood movies/tv shows. I always felt these characters in movies/tv shows had a deeper meaning, so I'm glad that I came across someone who can break it down. Preciate your work

Great video, and growing up in the hood, this was one of my favorite movies ever. Unfortunately, the out of Africa theory has been severely debunked. So while it was widely believed during the filming of this movie, scientists know better now. And that's not trying to erase history, that's just stating a fact that has been widely distributed and accepted amongst scientists, anthropologists, and academics at Large. And it still does not take away from the importance of this movie, and the impact that had on everyone, black and white. Keep up the good work, great video!
