The Cleo has benn traced already. It is based on the Xotic BB pedal, which is based on a Tubescreamer.

I like "Cleo" mostly - it sounds most natural among all others, brings no dirt. It is very similar to "Tone Boost" of previous series, which seems was even better to me. Besides, its boost should be enough to warm up 2nd channel of any amp. BTW Jamie is one of my favorite players, I like them from his LickLibrary courses.

Two guitarists that I enjoy coming out of the punk style are mick jones from the clash and Tom delonge from blink 182...both used boogie mark 2 and trip rec respectively....would love a pedal that goes from those vintage tomes up to more modern tones....think it would be a smash of done right

Those colors don’t look very Mesa though, more like something Fender would make, nothing wrong but looks strange

Can anyone answer how is the Cleo different from the Grid Slammer? Both have the same layout as a Tube Screamer.
@wabisabi7399 Жыл бұрын
The Cleo is based on the Xotic BB pedal which is a Tubescreamer.

i prefer my old throttle box eq or better : a tube pedal or another overdrive

IMO the Cleo is a Klon clone, the Dynaplex is a VOX AC30 and the Goldmine are classic Marshall plexi sounds. Hence the colors. These are not the Mesa sounding pedals, those are the darker colored line. Tone Burst (clean boost), Grid Slammer (tube screamer clone), Throttle box (Triple Rectifier gain channel), Flux Drive (Mark series gain channel). And then you need a pre EQ to get that classic Mesa sound from Metallica or Tool.
@Skoora4 жыл бұрын
Dynaplex is definitely a Marshall inspired pedal. Can’t see someone making an AC30 based pedal with “plex” in the name either. The Goldmine he called that classic Boogie sound so maybe based on a mix of Mark and recto. Definitely doesn’t sound like a Marshall.

@@newfiesig Thank you for that info!!! That is awesome!!! The goldmine instantly reminded me of that slash tone when he started playing those sweet child o mine licks there at the end! Good to know! 👍

Awesome tones but at these price points they should have a built in noise gate. The lack of a noise gate limits the use of higher gain in a live situation. No one wants a noisy rig on stage. I'll have to stick with my Strymon Riverside.
@kellymartin30772 жыл бұрын
Dude, I've had a ton of high gain pedals and never needed a noise gate. Just sayin
@jsullivan21122 жыл бұрын
It's a shame that going forward we probably won't be able to hear you guys demo your pedals with anything other than Gibson guitars. "That's great now can I hear what it sounds like with a Strat?" Nope! Too bad!
@bluecollarboys62942 жыл бұрын
But he played Ernie Ball guitars the whole vid.
@jsullivan21122 жыл бұрын
@@bluecollarboys6294 You didn’t notice this video is a year old and then Gibson bought Mesa Boogie? Or that I said "going forward"? Have you seen Mesa’s new website? It’s got Gibson crap all over it.

The pastel colors may or may not look tough, or like something a "rock " guitarist would have, but if you have many pedals, it is easily distinguished from the other pedals on a pedal board, other companies sometimes use "regular" colors.I have two Mesa Boogies. Great Products, great company.
@shawnshipstad92812 жыл бұрын
There are more boost, overdrive pedals on te market these days it is almost sickening. Write good songs, the audience will not know the difference. I know this to be true. I have a several Mesa amps. Thank God I have the TC 50 watt head & a 2X12 vertical Mesa cab. If I hit the boost on the footswitch, there is no varation other than volume. The "Old School" Mesa Flux Drive" is great.
