What about full Nelson when they pick you up off your feet?

Nelson's a nasty thing. When I was a fifteen year old practicing judo I was challenged by an aikido black belt, then in the 80's they were a bit tougher in aikido than now, the guy was older, bigger, a full grown man while I was a skinny teen, but quite fast I took the guy to the ground, he wasn't very good there but was heavier and stronger. Fortunatelly I managed to pull a full nelson on, that was like almost the end, he fought valiantly for a minute or so to get out of it, but find no solution and I finally tapped him out. Oh I was the proudest kid in the gym then :)

There's no merit to beating an aikido guy, aikido is a bullshit martial art.

Stephen, In Shaolin Kung Fu, we learned a similar technique but with an additional few things that basically _guarantee_ your opponent releases grip: 1) backward hammerfist(s) to the groin, 2) backward kick(s) to the weight-favored knee joint, and 3) reverse headbutt(s). Don't think there's many people who'd be willing to continue to endure that just to keep the hold. Once they start to loosen their hands, break the hold by thrusting the arms downward as shown in the video.

Youre gonna headbutt someone when they have you in a full nelson? 🤨

Stephen can I make a suggestion on the end of the technique? Hide your head beside his before disengaging. In my opinion you would have caught a left hook while breaking away. Just something to better your chances. Thanks and great video, love your content.

Back when I was a rambunctious young fellow I twice used something I learned from my dad, if a guy has you in a Full Nelson you thrash around and struggle till they widen out their legs and then use your heel to hit them in the groin as hard as you possibly can. Worked good and both times I used it the guy who had me in the Full Nelson wasn't playing!

Would you recomend using the full nelson if you need to hold someone?
@AmourorChristopherDresbach
@AmourorChristopherDresbach 5 жыл бұрын
Once you lock your hands together in that position, it seems it would be easy enough to stomp the attacker's feet, scrape down the shins, or mule kick them. Moving your feet or a foot repeatedly with one of these techniques ought to ensure you will reach a target area.

Does the same principle apply for the school yard bully restraint where they come up and instead restrain both biceps like they're trying to lift you up instead of doing a full Nelson?
@xgladar
@xgladar 5 жыл бұрын
if both their hands are just up and not holding anything its easy to just increase your weight on them by lifting your legs a little, also if you can grasp your hands its like the ending in this video, your hands are stronger because the clasping gives you a point to hold on to

I have a question. In high school a teacher said he had army training and a defense/attack from a full-nelson was to raise arms, slide down, grab the aggressor's ankles and then swing the full body upward with feet kept together to kick the aggressor in the face with both feet. Is this a realistic defense/attack?

could you really not find anyone else other than someone with an injured neck....? aslo why are you locking your fingers that way, it seems less reliable than the instinctual finger locking, and its digging your fist into your own forehead.
