@@movieglazer I don't see that as impressive. She's a pretty girl with... decent acting skills, which is what separates her from a few of the other nepotism celebrities (and, with that, the name of her parents), but she would have never landed a single role, had she not already had a leg up in the industry.

@@movieglazer you fail to consider that the reason she was able to get in the industry in the first place is her father. I have mixed feelings about nepotism babies. On one hand it's incredibly unfair that some people get handed incredible opportunities simply by being born into the right family, on the other if one or both of my parents we super rich and/or famous I would probably expect them to help.
@nganluo6365
@nganluo6365 2 жыл бұрын
And some of them are really talented and actually deserve recognition, but on the other hand it it really makes you think if they would be where they are if it wasn't because of their connections since how many talented models, actors, etc. just got lost in the hoard of people who are trying to make it or they just didn't get a chance to shine.

That's why I don't hate someone for being a nepo baby cause if I had the parents to propel me into the industry I want to be in, I'll take it in a heartbeat. The most important to me is that they are aware of their privilege, work as hard as someone who worked from the ground up, and that they have a kind/sweet personality.
@genoswest7253
@genoswest7253 2 жыл бұрын
@@yleilaf.a7967 Sadly I think it doesn’t matter if their heart is in the right place because no matter what, they’ll take up spaces from non nepotism kids. Like just their last name gives them privilege in an audition. Someone else could do just the same if not better but just having the last name Jolie would get you the role. I think it’s impossible to be a product of nepotism and work as hard/check your privilege(to an extent), at the same time. However, I don’t think it’s their fault but the fault of Hollywood and how it’s built. It’s unfortunate but hopefully in the future this won’t be the case :^( edit: I think the only thing they could do is just be extremely honest about it, and maybe turn down every other role they get (or just not audition as frequently as normal) ?? IDK it’s hard for sure !!

Yeah, and like... @@akiraholland457 I don't think anyone is denying there are talented and worthy nepo babies. It's just that we like to romanticize the path to fame and believe that people started at the bottom, so to speak. It makes famous people more relatable. When we find out someone had fewer obstacles to overcome, it _tends_ to change the way we think of their life trajectory. Suddenly, they're a bit less relatable.

You should definitely look into Drew Barrymore’s life story, it’s actually one of the most heartbreaking yet inspiring stories ever. She was an alcoholic at 9, she began smoking weed at 12, went into rehab several times before she turned 20, was taken to nightclubs as a child by her mother so she would party with adults doing adult things, was abused by both of her parents, was poor for a good chunk of her life, had a drug addict for a father who was actually kicked out by her mother during altercation that got violent and she was emancipated from her mother in her late teens. Idk if she belongs her because of this… yea she’s related to famous people but her life is worse than most. She’s done more than just an extensive acting career and a talk show, she also has a makeup/beauty brand and is a full on hippy(minus the weed). She fought to get to the place that she’s at now, she fought hard. She’s a badass and a legend in her own right. I will take a bullet for her, that’s how much love and respect that I have for her. She’s what I aspire to be. Drew Barrymore is a warrior and a champion.

Exactly. I think also there’s something to be said about pretending to be successful on your own merit vs. being aware that you are able to be famous in some part due to your relations. One of the examples that comes to my mind is maya hawke. She’s aware and fine with pointing out her nepotism from her parents while also being able to back up her parents. Whereas if you look at Ben platt (while talented) tried to hide the nepotism that gives him so many opportunities I don’t know if that makes sense or not

i never saw drew barrymore as a nepotism baby bc while she was born into an acting dynasty, her family life as a kid was really traumatic and it is more like she was successful in spite of her family rather than bc of them. she was emancipated at age 14 which was right in the middle of a very public struggle with addiction. she was lucky that there were a lot of people around her who were able to offer support and stability that she never really got from her family. i really admire her bc she struggled so much in her teens and early 20s that everyone was really worried that she wasn't going to make it, but she worked so hard to turn her life around and she has been sober forever, to the point where i don't think young people today even know how rough her childhood really was. she is really awesome. :)

I would put the Hadids in "Fork in the kitchen". Their mom was a model. Gigi looks almost identical to her but with some subtle Arab mixed in, Bella looks a lot like her but slightly more like her dad than Gigi. And if you watched Yolanda on RHBH, she was clearly training them up to be models. They're 2 forks exactly where you thought they'd be 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also think Muade Apatow is a fantastic actress but I don't think she's done enough yet to transcend "Fork in kitchen". I'm mostly just rooting for her to do so. I can't see the Smith kids as anything but "Camp". They go well with Gwyneth.

Loved this! Small edit… place the new images to the left of the tier list so the audience can see the new placements, and the old move to the right.

i would have put Paris in snapsnap. she’s been doing some real advocacy work in D.C. for the foster system and abusive boarding schools. she’s using that metaverse clout for action

The thing is that it's very hard to get in the industry without nepotism or having the right contacts. However, it's really annoying when people pretend that wasn't the case with them. There's nothing wrong with privilege, especially if you're actually talented. But don't pretend that you got where you are because of "hard work"

the part when you said there's so many of them now they have to fight for auditions is so true because there's so many that are still unknown and have never been in successful or big projects 💀

To be honest I think that Olivia Jades parents are the ones who should really be held responsible considering that she was not even 18 at the time

I feel like the apatow family is really giving lately. They’re not trying to hide the nepotism but still let us have an insight and Maude honestly seems so nice I want to see her in more films and different roles
