@@alfie6441 both don't worry darling and my policeman had a lot of potential, that fell flat due to the lack of feeling, passion and connection in the script. don't worry darling feels more like a montage/compilation of ideas olivia wilde wanted to try out, that when put together, don't really work because either they never get mentioned again, so the audience is left in a daze of why that was even necessary in the first place, or they're unnecessarily mystified and, once again, never mentioned again. the story lacks any sense of real resolve or motive behind what transpires. my policeman is a passionate story, about heartbreak, emotion and pain, and that is the reason for the movie's 'downfall'. the script lacked feeling, sympathising with characters felt forced at times, etc. once again, it had an incredible amount of potential, i mean, it's a tragic story. but the director didn't seem to go all in, which resulted in it feeling void. so i agree with the op commentator, while harry styles chose hyped-up and long-awaited projects, with a cast to back it up...in the end, neither project ended up matching the expectations, let alone exceeding them. they were by no means bad, but they can't be considered 'breakthrough work', because neither the movies nor his acting match that statement.

@@daria2804 just to add on , while watching the whole movie I understood why rumors of Florence may saw the movie as questionable. The trailer wasn’t really well at detailing what was good with the movie, Margeret being a vital piece to the storyline was only given like 2 scenes while the sx scene was all the rage. So red flag number one The movie itself was just anti-climatic. Like their characters were broke, the character of harry was an incel that managed to have the effort and time in creating a alternative reality within a bedroom just wasn’t the umph I was looking for. Movie wasn’t all bad but it just didn’t achieve the expectation towards what Olivia had in mind

@@daria2804 I wasn’t disagreeing with OP just wanted to know if they were including Dunkirk and Eternals in the two categories they listed. Also I agree with your analysis. MP was beautiful in terms of the story but felt very empty and I think it’s partly because of the lack of focus on the development of the characters themselves. They didn’t feel like people and the younger versions and the older versions felt like completely different people and it wasn’t in a way that felt intentional. For DWD it was honestly just nice to look at. It felt rushed and it honestly could’ve down well with another 30 more minutes added to the run time but then again the time that they were given wasn’t utilized well so in the end you have this tension build up to absolutely nothing. Yes there’s a twist but there is no pay off from that reveal. And then there’s the effect of reading the original script and seeing just how much Katie Silberman and Olivia Wilde stripped this story of everything it actually needed to be a good and entertaining film just to deliver us this failed attempt at a conversation starter it’s quite sad actually

@@bece00 perhaps because he doesn’t sound like Harry Styles? To me he sounds very much as you’d expect the character he’s playing to sound. IMO the clip going around sm where ppl said he was bad led ppl to watch him through the lens of looking for a bad performance where there wasn’t one. A lot of ppl reported being puzzled after seeing the films because he was reported as giving a bad performance and didn’t. Roger Eggers wanted to work with him after auditioning him, he had 6 auditions to work with Nolan who described him as a natural talent, Baz Luhrmann auditioned him and said he’s a good actor he’d like to work with on future projects
