I suspect the reason why Walburga married Orion was in order to become the Lady of the House of Black. The fact that she waited when she was older than Orion we can speculate she did that intentionally. Perhaps because she found the idea of being ahead of her brothers amd have more power as Lady of the House compared to if she was married off to some random pure blood family.

There’s a few Black family headcanons that I love. One is that Orion was kept docile by Walburga, usually through potions or the imperious. It has so much angst potential, Orion trapped in his own head, failing to help his sons, or coming out of the haze and realising what he’s let happen. Especially if it gets revealed after Sirius is disowned. The other one I like is that Bellatrix’s parents were abusive because they had no sons and no chance to become the Head of the family. Bellatrix did her best to keep her sisters safe and it eventually drove her insane. :)

I think it is cannon that Narcissa actually did love Lucius. She was considered very lucky because she was able to find a guy she loves that also met her parents/household's standards. It's also the main distinction between Regulus and Draco. Regulus was pressured into taking the Dark Mark because he feared his parents and couldn't have gotten away without getting disowned or physically harmed. Draco took the mark because he wanted to uphold the family name after his dad got arrested and loved them so much that he hated disappointing them.

Just a general heads up: paying for fanfiction is illegal and can lead to authors removing their fics so they don't get stolen by people wanting to make a profit off of them, and then getting them into hot water when it comes to copyright infringment. You can read atyd online, can download it for a kindle etc, or print and bind it yourself. but even paying for materials to let other people bind them is illegal.

So, this is a head cannon I've had for awhile is that bellatrix and sirius were actually very close growing up (you'll see it in a few fics aswell) because they were both eldest children of the black family so they kind of understood eachother better than andromeda, narcissa and regulus and they kinda had the same kind of pressure and expectations on them. I also think bellatrix most likely started going insane towards the end of her hogwarts years so I think one of the main reasons sirius was so against "carrying on the family legacy" is that he watched it drive his cousin insane. So yea, they were close and then bella killed her baby cousin who she used to let use her wand as a kid to teach him spells. There is no happiness

i don’t know where else to put this but heavy headcanon rant incoming. it’s my personal headcanon that andromeda’s decision to run away and marry teddy was very sudden (at least to the black family) but before this andromeda had confided in narcissa and asked for her advice which was to follow her heart. so when the family had found out that andromeda had ran off and got married to a muggleborn, it was discovered by bellatrix that narcissa had known about andromeda and teddy’s relationship and hid it not only from the family but her which caused a massive rift in their relationship because growing up i imagine the black sisters were largely isolated from other children their age due to the strict nature of their parents and family which caused them to be tightly knit throughout childhood and school. unable to cope with fact that her sister, someone she held very highly of and trusted, had lied to her about something so important bellatrix cut herself away from the family and by proxy narcissa by marrying rodolphus lestrange. however what she didn’t know was how abusive adolphus was, not physically but emotionally which only further damaged her sense of reality (with narcissa’s betrayal on top of that) and sense of self (which caused her insanity). also the reason bellatrix becomes so devoted to voldemort is because i don’t think he ever necessarily outright lied to her like at most he bent the truth here and there (which understand that being an abusive relationship after being betrayed by someone you deeply trusted caused bellatrix to literally throw her standards in the bin) and also valued her in way that her husband ever did.

I dont know how true this is but cygnus black married druella rosier because, druella got pregnant with bellatrix before they were marrried. also if i remember correctly druella was much older than cygnus, therefore kind of 'preying' on cygnus but she was not prepared to be married off as soon as she was pregnant.
