My favorite epi was when they made up at Thanksgiving and Patti and Carroll kissed on the lips. Patti loved to kiss on the lips, as she did the same thing to Whitley during the Christmas episode. It showed true love and how much they really loved and admired each other.

Ironically, I doubt the same sentiment would have been felt had Kadeem and Darryl kissed to show true love and admiration for each other, or if any of the other males in the cast did the same. I am not being flippant or crass, nor accusing you of being this way; I am making a serious observation. I just never understood why society tends to applaud displays of affection as something wonderful between women, but is frowned upon between men, even more so back in the 1980's and 1990's. Such strange double standards in this world.

I have always enjoyed watching A Different World. It's a timeless series. Just as "Sanford and Son, "Good Times", "Martin", "Living Single", "The Cosby Show" and "What's Happening". Every cast member was funny in their own way. And they ALL played well off of each other. From season 2 through season 6 it was nothing but good writing, quality storylines and great actors and actresses. I'm so glad that Bill Cosby had the foresight to create this show and bring Debbie Allen on board to revitalize it after a stale first season. Ridiculously smart choice.

I also want to say Thank you to Dr Bill Cosby, thee amazing and talented Debbie Allen, as well as the phenomenal cast for bringing the world a T.V show that was so well thought out, relatable, inspiring, and entertaining. You enter the homes of millions and brought a standard of television that was needed then...and needed even more now. You made us laugh, cry, fall in love, learn, grow and so much more. Thank you!! Thank you for covering topics such as Domestic violence, Racism, Health epidemics, Political views, Women's Rights, Military duty, and various teenage and family issues just to name a few. "A Different World" was a story of Love, Friendship, Romance, Higher Education, Family, and Growth. I can go on and on about this masterpiece of a show. I am grateful for witnessing this show first hand and I will sing its honor forever ❤️

@Entertaining Black Man Videos I’m glad you mentioned, save by the bell. Because it all depends who is the one producing and overseeing the show. For example, the first season of a different world was not good until Debbie Allen came in and fixed to show to what it is and what we remember today. So yes, they need to reboot the show half the previous characters or some of them as professors because that do happen in real life. And start over. Is that simple? Especially when you get the right person involved and producing the show such as a Debbie Allen who I’m sure would be willing to give it a shot.

It actually brought tears to my eyes and a chill when down my spine when I heard that rattling wheezing sound when she laughed. I have seen first hand the horrible toll smoking takes on a body. Sure hope she quits before it's too late, if it isn't already too late.

@Draper Scott I didn't either until I heard her laugh and did a search to see if she smokes. I saw the interview where she pulled out the pack of cigarettes as the most embarrassing thing in her purse. She said that maybe the shame of the moment will help her quit. Felt like a punch in the stomach. I hate to see anyone be addicted to something that can ultimately kill them. In my lifetime, I have watched too many smokers suffer so hellishly with the pain of just trying to catch a breath with emphysema or literally rotting from the inside out, smelling like a rotting corpse from lung cancer as it eats it way through the back, as it did with my grandmother. Just breaks my heart!

To give thanks , I came to this show as an extra , being a Mexican girl, and was I ever welcomed ,truely wonderful people.It was a wonderful memory and experience.Miss Allen , kadeem, cree ,dawn,cree,all the cast was very down to earth, and made you feel right at home. The level of talent on this set, Miss Patti LaBelle,Miss Allen the whole family of actors , everyone true artists.It was for me a once in a lifetime. And I feel blessed to say I had that experience. *Debbi Allen saved the show after season 1 that's why it survived.* The writers did not know anything about HBCU Colleges and Lisa Bonet was the ONLY reason people were Tuning in Season 1. With her leaving it would've been canceled if Debbie wasn't brought in as Executive producer with her Real Life experience as an HBCU College graduate. Also with her creative ideas that brought the Show up to speed to a more Realistic & Fun Experience and touched on Actual Real life topics & social issues.
