My knees hurt just watching this…someone needs to sponsor this lady with a tiller. Bet you could perform miracles with it and generate mega sales for them too💕. I felt your frustration with the weeds, makes my tiny garden problems seem very insignificant. Thanks for inviting us into your home and life!
@FarmersWifeHomesteadСағат бұрын
It is hard work but worth it, I wouldn't trade it for anything, one day I will get on top of it haha. I have been looking at a tiller, but they are far out of my budget currently. A sponsor would be great though! 😊

@@carolgeurts8075 if you mulch as per Charles Dowding virtually no weeds to pull I tamed rampant kikuyu with this method. I have 1 artificial hip and another due. I sit on a little stool or on the ground to garden. When I had my nursery business I had a 93 year old who still gardened said she must look a sight hanging off her walker !😆

Thank you for sharing this. It’s lovely to get to know you outside the kitchen! It’s fall here, it made me long for spring and a new garden (hopefully one that won’t be devoured by Japanese beetles). Have a good rest!

Thank you for taking us with you today, thoroughly enjoyed spending time with you. I busted open my leg in July, straight over my knee. It kept me inside for weeks and the garden became a weed fest. One day at a time Stacey and you’ll get your garden how you want it but I totally understand getting overwhelmed with the weeds ♥️

I am amazed with what you achieve on a daily basis with your challenges. Sweeping, baking and housework can make my condition worse. To think you have farm chores as well wow. You are an inspiration with a very generous heart. Hope your daughter is doing

Loved your video, boy you work hard!keeping the garden areas are such hard work, almost never ending, but you can’t win at everything and veg gardens are notorious for growing weeds extra fast it’s hard to keep up with it all ,but you do a great job especially with your bad knees and the heat ,be very proud of your achievements every day makes a big difference.Stay strong .❤

I’m changing my garden over to raised beds a few at a time. Something to consider when we become or before we become physically compromised. Otherwise like you showed it can become overwhelming when it’s just us doing it.

Fantastic mulch dag wool 😊
@FarmersWifeHomesteadСағат бұрын
Yes, it is such a great idea to use dag wool for mulch, I wonder if I should cover the whole garden haha
Hi there, I'd dug some strawberry plants out then cover the garden in a tarpaulin, let the weeds die, then replant your strawberry plants. Or get some vegy bins built make life a lot easier. Or you could save some plants and spray the whole garden. Good luck.
@SherylAbbott-wc9vk23 минут бұрын
You did so well Stacey. Raised beds would be so helpful but I know they're costly. I wonder if there's a local handyman that would do mates rates for a little plug on your vlog😘 I wish we could smell that lilac too 😆 Such a pretty colour. Can you please do a recipe for some pulled meat with a fabulous sauce? Ooh, my mouth's watering just thinking about it 🤣

@@FarmersWifeHomestead happy to see you getting around better after the knee surgery. I can appreciate the frustration with the overgrown garden. Used to deal with massive amounts of blackberry bushes that are a major pest here thanks to the homesick Brits back in the mid-1800s, plus other invasive gifts. Had to laugh at the naughty chickens, Chelsea at LMR was calling hers "stinking chickens" when they were trying to dig up her freshly planted garlic beds.

Stacey, I'm exhausted just watching you going to war with all those weeds! Does your local high school have an agricultural program? Maybe one or two of those kids could give you a hand with your garden? A hands on learning experience for them as well as possible credits towards better grades. The person who mentioned a garden company sponsoring your efforts (and major KZbin exposure for them!) with giving/lending a tiller, might be worth looking into. Any avenue is worth the effort to explore in order to make your life a little easier.
