No I haven't tried Keto, for right now I have the time to cook clean and pre-prepare my food for the month to go to work. Today makes 72 hours I've been fasting, my goal is 40 days, I've fast as far a 30 God is Great. I will try Keto when ever I think press for time will ever come my way. I hope they have vegetarian dishes. No chicken, turkey or fish, I don't eat anything that bleed or use to bleed.

That was awesome. My wife and have just started a couple of months ago and I told my wife there is something wrong with this diet. People kept saying you can eat all of these crappie high saturated meats. I told my wife that we will stick with the low carbs but we are going to eat non-farmed raised fish, organic chicken, much less beef but when we do (a couple times a month and it's all grass fed. I am so glad to hear you talk about the Clean and dirty Keto. I have listened to so many Dr. on youtube and not one person has mentioned that. Great job Doc.

I just cannot eat all the fats, I have the cholesterol that runs high (cannot think what it’s call) but all my children have been check to see if they have it, so eating loads of animal fats will raise my bad LDL where at the moment my numbers are good, and I’m on 2 medications for it. I also have trouble with constipation, and the psyllium Husks powder has really helped.

I am really enjoying your great presentations. I started “dirty” Keto about 5 weeks ago for obesity and fatty liver. At first I felt fantastic, not hungry, and lost 22 pounds. Then, I started to feel unwell (tired and dizzy). I figured it was Keto flu and watched my electrolytes. As I continued to feel worse, I ended up unable to get out of bed from fatigue. My doctor ordered a thyroid panel and we discovered that my tsh and t4 were perfect, but my t3 was at the bottom of low. I had a thyroidectomy for Graves 23 years ago. Now, I discover there is a controversy about thyroid patients being on a Keto diet. Apparently, decreasing calories can interfere with thyroid conversion. I’m continuing to learn what I can while I get my thyroid back in range. I want to try the “clean” Keto if possible and include a larger variety of non-starchy veggies which would raise my carbs up a bit. I am determined to find a way to heal my liver and take off the weight.

@@drrajsree I have hypothyroidism but not Hashimotos. When I go on Keto, I lose weight but hormones go awry. Now I eat low- carb and use intermittent fasting with eating window from 2:00 pm to 6pm and it seems to be ok. My gut micro biome is healthier and I definitely have more energy when fasting. My abdominal fat is shrinking thankfully and my only problem now that insulin resistance is manageable is my husband! He eats three squares a day and snacks in between! Once you have adjusted to exercising in ketosis there are no exercises you can't do. I have done heavy, intense weight lifting, HIIT, and sprints while doing a prolonged fast of up to 11 days. Fasting and diets that induce ketosis are things our bodies are well adapted for, we just have to give our bodies a chance to operate as they were intended.

I ate a “ dirty “ keto diet. My CRP became undetectable. My ldl went up 5 points but my triglycerides became lower than my HDL! You are still bought into the “ lipid “ hypothesis. Please review the recent European Journal of Preventive Cardiology. It’s 60 pages of dietary goodness. They can find no negative effect of saturated fats. And by the way, speaking of natural goodness. Remember our first food, mothers milk, is 54% saturated fat! Carry on ! Love your videos! As doctors we must always be learning and unlearning!

exactly. either order a sub fractional lipid test $$ for ldl that won't go away because the receptors don't "see it" (apo B100 damaged, ?? by sugars) and it stays around becoming small dense ... or simply use a strong proxy for this, the Remnant Cholesterol calculation (Total minus (ldl + hdl) from a basic lipid test.... google/youtube RC for videos on it for the target ranges ... otherwise ldl is an energy transport first, then a roaming repair kit afterward, ready to be broken down for the building blocks needed wherever there's damage. some say. the body makes a bunch of it. for a reason, i think.

Going to try Keto and I practice IF one day a week. I have done quite a bit of research on cholesterol, as I had a TIA in December and there is growing evidence that cholestetol does not cause artery plaques. Cardiologists, endocrinologists and MDs are of this belief. But the corporate pharmaceutical industries will not easily give up the statin cash cow.

Please can you do a deep dive on "wear and tear" arthritis of the hip. Conventional doctors just say wait for it to get bad enough then have a hip replacement! No advice on diet, fasting, body muscle to gat ratio, exercise, gut health or supplements etc. I feel taking high strength painkillers daily then other medications to mitigate the negative side effects of the painkillers on stomach and then layering that with advice to have a biscuit or toast doesn't seem to promote overall health. Pain management at any cost on full body health and quality of life.
