This video brought back memories of my first dog - a black Lab with a diamond patch of white on his chest, that we named Tux - short for tuxedo. We lived in a small village and everyone knew him - he was beloved, especially by our elderly, widowed neighbor, who Tux visited every day. One day in a freak occurance he was hit by a car and his hip was fractured. In those days, animals were euthanized, but my father, a blue collar worker, with four children to support, asked the Vet to save him if possible and worked out a payment schedule that they agreed on. The Vet never sent my father a bill, and when my father realized it, he called the Vet to ask about it. The Vet told him that he decided not to charge my father, because he was so impressed that my father wanted to save him. Tux was only two years old when this happened. He went on to live to 16 years!! The people who do this work are to be highly appreciated. All creatures play an important role on this Earth, but, I think, dogs especially are a priceless treasure to mankind. They are our helpers and our Loving companions.

I agree. A short ad at the beginning is not an issue. Or you could get companies to sponsor you...dog food in exchange for ads or even just their icon in the corner of the video. Also, you can put Amazon links in the description and encourage people to click through your link to Amazon. Everything they buy within a 24 hour period of clicking that link would give you a small percentage. It doesn't matter if it's products you promote or just their grocery shopping...you'd get a cut. Look up info about being an Amazon Affiliate. And some of the other big chain stores do the same.
@geoffbeyer18736 жыл бұрын
It's a good idea, as long as they can get enough revenue to pay the running costs and vet bills. Don't quote me, but to get paid for an ad, the person has to watch the whole thing without skipping it I was told. Donations are probably a much easier and consistent form of payment being a not for profit organisation.

Hello - thank you for all the rescues you do. I am shocked at how many stray dogs there are in Los Angeles. I didn’t think any North American cities had a lot of stray and abandoned dogs. Obviously I was wrong. I live in Vancouver, Canada. There are no stray dogs here. Really none. If you see a dog wandering on the street, you know it has escaped from it’s yard and is lost. Then local social media kicks in to get the dog home. I do recall as a child there were street dogs and people let their animals roam at will and less were spayed/neutered. But since the 1960s there has been a lot of education about the need to spay/neuter, strict leash laws that do not allow your dogs to wander off your property. This has led in time to essentially there being no stray dog population. In fact, it can be somewhat difficult to find a rescue dog if you want a dog. There have now sprung up rescues that bring rescues from the States and Mexico to home here. My own dog, a chi/pug cross, I had to go just south of the border here to a Bellingham rescue, as there simply were no small dogs locally to rescue. There is a down side to these Canadian rescues though. A few are really businesses that scoop up stray dogs from the states in the guise of being rescues, then they sell them for hundreds of dollars and don’t screen the prospective new owners. But most of them are sincerely dedicated to rescuing dogs and finding homes, they do charge an adoption fee but it is reasonable. This is not to say we don’t have problems with animal abuse and people hoarding animals, we do. But we don’t have stray dog issue here the city, or in Ottawa or Toronto, the other 2 big Canadian cities I have spent time in.

I'm surprised the video for this rescue was as brief as it was, given what I assumed were pretty serious injuries sustained by that dog. It makes everything seem so straightforward, when I'm sure it was anything but! God Bless Tux and the family who gave Tux his loving forever home! God Bless Hope For Paws and the veterinarians whose skills allow beautiful animals like Tux to survive and thrive!

Great rescue...thank you so much Hope for Paws! I hope that the brave kids whose mom called for rescue were given a chance to meet Tux when he was all healed up. The kids need to be commended for their thoughtfulness, heroism & compassion. They are the future, and ought to carry on these values and spread it further. This is how we make a better world for animals. God Bless!
