I found both to be sad, actually. The second one has dark humor, but more dark than humor. I have an aging dog and I'm scared when the day comes I have to let him go, so maybe that's why I view it this way.

As someone who had to have their dog put to sleep, I thought this was horrible. Except for the part about the dog hating to hear the tags jingling in his ears, that was funny.
