A dry and sagging Brooks B66 leather saddle

I found this dry and saggy Brooks B66 leather saddle, and it sits terrible. So I'm looking for some tips on how I should proceed with the "restoration". Simply slap on some grease and slowly retention the leather. Or take it all apart and soak it in a bucket of water and then retention the leather?

According to different forums, water works the best. Take all tension out (nose screw), than soak it in water for several hours. Some people recommend using gelatin (20g for 4 liters of water) to make leather top more rigid. Than take it out of water and form the saddle with some piece of wood or newspapers pressed hardly under it. I placed a thin wood piece on rails and filled the gap between the wood and saddle with newspapers. You can form wet leather as you want - so make a new saddle shape :) than bind the wings as you did for b66 and dry it slowly. And only than you can apply some proofide.

I recommend using Belvoir Leather Balsam, which is for conditioning horse saddles, etc. There may be an equivalent brand in the Netherlands. Coat it on top and bottom of saddle leather, leave to soak for a couple of hours, wipe and buff, then reapply and repeat process a few times over a couple of days. Should make the leather nice and supple and then you can gradually try to stretch it back into shape by tightening the bolt and putting a strap around it like the other saddle. Or take it off the metal frame altogether and use the other saddle as a mould as you suggest.

Actually everywhere the products for horse sales are not recommended, because it will make the leather too soft. It will sag really fast after that
