You were awesomely insane in this video, happy!!! Thank you Jim Harmer for being entertaining, and Ricky Kesler (who was hiding in the background shouting out the numbers), you guys are truly are an insider for the genres you teach about, you're the master for bringing in more traffic with vlogging and blogging!!! In this video I learned a lot about camera lenses and pink dry erase pens and more! But most importantly I learned that info products and memberships do best on KZbin, ads do best on blogs, lead generation and affiliate does equally well on vlogs and blogs, but eCommerce where you have to send the visitor to a website in the end anyways doesn't do as well on vlogs as it does on blogs. That creates so many questions in my mind concerning what do you consider an affiliate product. You mentioned a camping vlog/blog trying to sell tents. I'll dive deeper into this if I can, I learn so much from you guys. Keep it coming!!! If I enroll in your school I'm sure I will get all the answers I'm seeking and a billion times more!!! You'll see me in class soon! Thanks a million (literally)!!! -CEO Ben Arnold (ChatFellow)

Oh man, as usual, this video is packed with content and a couple of hilarious moments (intro/outro). I absolutely agree that certain traffic sources work better for certain niches and others for other niches. All a matter of finding the right ones and then doubling down on them while keeping your streams of traffic diversified at the same time. Easier said than done but nothing that is worthwhile is ever easy! :D

Love it! I'm just starting to build a YT channel and experiment with some of your ideas, and I gotta say, this video really sold me on recommending YT for anyone who sells services/courses, etc. I can't wait to see my results from using Pinterest (I'm a Pinterest Strategist) to drive YT traffic and help grow my channel - I think this combo could be a fantastic way to expand my client's reach. For the most part, they are tired of the FB/IG grind and ready to use platforms that have a bigger organic reach and can generate leads faster. I always recommend they check out your channels if they are looking to get started either blogging or YT'ing. Thanks, Ricky & Jim!!!

I have 100k subscribers and rarely get any sales when selling products. I think those rates may work depending what your niche is on KZbin but for me as mentioned I'm lucky to get a single sale on a product, even if the video takes off. I mainly have a demographic of 18-34 so I feel the age range is good and get 35-50k views a day. So yeah not sure things match up across the platform it is very niche specific and if the audience connects well with you.

I think that's a very interesting point. Way to go with your channel BTW! I know make-money-online type of channels will have a much higher ad revenue, and most likely a better conversion rate. The thing about having that many subscribers is that you can rapidly test all kinds of products to see what resonates. The one thing I've learned after all these years of internet marketing is that my own assumptions are frequently wrong. Test Test Test! Have you thought about doing a Poll video? You know, ask viewers what they want reviewed? Or what subjects they want to see a video on?...there's clues right there.

$3,500/month? Wow, that's much better than what SocialBlade thinks you make :) You mentioned that KZbin can convert at 4%, is that only for online courses or could you expect the same CVR for affiliate/product sales? What price point? Thank you for your answer, keep up the great work.

Awesome information! However, the flaw I noticed is that 4k from the 100k subscribers is off. That is assuming that every subscriber watches your new video, which never happens. I wish it did! lol, the percentage is way less, depending on your channel. Of course, there are plenty of new people who aren't subscribers that will watch the videos too and never subscribe :) But yes your main point of people watching youtube videos being more opt to buy is spot on. I think a more appropriate statistic would be something like out of the total views, how many people buy, as opposed to subscribers. Just my two cents, haha.

Everyone would tell you to go head first into KZbin. But here's the thing. KZbin now prefers long videos so it gets a little more complicated to get traction. It works but, then it needs a lot like really a lot of efforts. Pinterest is relatively easy. So, try but don't go for Insta. It's more hits and misses and your hashtag seo needs to be right and what not.

Your sales conversion calculation is wrong. You might get 2% Subscribers in your email list. From those 2% conversation rate of your email list you might be able to reach max. 50% considering a high open rate and an even lower click rate. From the let’s say 30% click rate you’ll get a 2% sales rate. If you are good. Now, run the numbers again how much you‘ve sold. Cheers 🍻

I watch movies and TV shows, but not really passionate enough to talk about them at length. I usually even forget characters names when I do. I did martial arts and like fitness, but I want to do a channel where I don't have to show my face, so I think those are out. I might be able to do a basic computer tutorial channel, stuff like doing stuff i _haven't _ n MS Word or Excel, but I see a lot of good videos like that and I'm not sure how would I monetize it. Hello there! I had given up on Pinterest 4 months ago. I was focused on Google organic traffic. I tried my best to tweak and make my articles SEO friendly but to no avail. I think it’s because I have a broad niche. I'm almost lost. Does Pinterest do good on broad niche websites? I honestly regret choosing my niche. But honestly, it’s something that I’m passionate about. In hindsight, I should’ve chosen a narrow niche. But, I think it's too late now I guess cause I've also written articles with over 7k words. :( My niche is about life. It emphasizes the need to understand ourselves and how important it is to be cognizant of the surroundings in terms of psychology and philosophy. So my ideas are classified into existence, emotions, mental health, philosophy, social issues, and leisure\culture. So, it's pretty broad. Do you think it would do good on Pinterest? It's been 5 days since I'm pinning on Pinterest now. I'm getting a few tractions. But is it really worth spending time on Pinterest? ( I'm focusing on Pinterest cause I have a lot of infographics and stuff). I'm struggling. Please help me!

Rohan Dominic hi Rohan. I just had a look at your site and I think I know why traffic may be low. Have you done research on how often your article keywords are searched for by users each month? When I wrote my first 10 articles they were passion pieces which I thought others would love to read but when I started doing keyword volume research using ubersuggest and keywords everywhere I found that zero people were searching for those terms. So then I started to niche down to smaller topics and seeing which words or key phrases people we're actually searching for and rewriting my content or writing new content to answer those questions people were actually asking in Google or Pinterest or youtube. That's when I started seeing slow growth and now heaps of growth in traffic.

Mari D I think it’s awesome that you have so much traffic coming from Pinterest. I don’t have many details but if your site is fairly new, that is not uncommon as it takes several months between 8 to 10 months for your first posts to start ranking in Google” if you did everything right”. When I first started my site, most of my traffic was coming from Pinterest as well but after one year it’s only a small fraction of the amount of traffic coming to my site because now most of it comes from Google.

Same here, pinterest is killing it for me, sending thousands of visitors per day. And I'm pretty sure I can more than double my current pinterest traffic this year. So right now I've started to focus more on content that I think will do well on pinterest.
