Being raised by narcissistic parents is a trip. Endlessly triggering. Nothing you do is ever good enough, and everything is always your fault. You’re forced to grow up early and see the ugly side of people early. From someone who gets it, I hope that they are healing and happy .

@@kellywood354 it rlly varies with narcissistic parents. Sometimes they focus their energies on their “favorite” while casting out a specific child. Sometimes it’s indiscriminate. I didn't meet my Father til I was 25 years old, after he abandoned my Mother and his three children when I was 3. He went to father my half-sister, and we may never know how many others. This guy sounds just like my Father. "I can't nothing about the past..." as he was an addict as well. He was very unapologetic, and when he became critical of my Mother, he ripped his azz a whole new one, and he never made that mistake again. Sometimes one or both of our Parents are only meant to get us here, but they most likely would do far worse damage had they attempted to raise us.

I know Steve introduced Eric as their half brother, but I also know a lot of people don’t prefer that term when it comes to siblings.. because they see their half siblings as their full blooded brother/sister.. anyway with that being said, Eric is amazing. As sad & f’d up as the situation is…. Eric is more of a father/father figure to them than that deadbeat was/is or will ever be. Of course that shouldn’t be his job/responsibility.. But the way he’s so protective and nurturing, the way he looks out for them even though they’re grown adults. For him to take on that role, while still being a brother at the same time. I love what he said in the end, and yes she is surrounded by great men she doesn’t need that loser. But the way Eric spoke in the after show clip.. wow!
@ashleyingram2620 Жыл бұрын
Such a sad (and cringing) story. The nerve of this guy.. those drugs must’ve fried and rotted his brain, cus wtf!!???!? I understand wanting answers, especially when you’re child whose father is absent.. or you’re just looking for a father figure in general. I can’t begin to imagine the toll that takes on a child emotionally. But the fact that even for a second, she considered it & entertained the thought, the possibility of having him in her life.. even knowing all she did, especially as an adult. I get giving people second chances (depending on the situation/circumstances), but having the info I already did, I would not have wasted an ounce of time, energy even trying with this guy. The constant deflecting, dodging and avoiding, refusing to answer simple questions, the denial. The gaslighting, the nonstop emotional, verbal, mental abuse… the physical abuse they endured in the past.. I don’t know if that’s something I’d be able to move past (not that they forget), but just to put it on the back burner.. it’s already bad enough he’s denying it. There’s nothing wrong with wanting/needing closure, but some don’t deserve the attention or respect that goes with needing said closure. Not all adults deserve respect, idgaf if they are your parents. Not all family is good family, the blatant disrespect he showed toward all of them.. I applauded Eric for standing up for them & getting in his face. This dude is indeed a narcissistic deadbeat.. The only replies, answers and comebacks he has are insults.. what a loser. Hope he’s miserable for the rest of his pathetic life.

I most definitely agree. I don't know how anyone can live their days knowing they either have kids for sure or that it's even a possibility. I only have one child that's mine by I feel the same way about all of my nephews and neices and there is a total of 14 of them between my husband's siblings, my siblingsans , one of my cousins whose kids are the same age as my siblings kids and so the kids all call me auntie Rara. One of my favorite songs is by Eminem and it's called "headlights" realistically it's a song he wrote about the issues he's had in life with his Mom but there's a part where he talks about his absent father and my favorite part is where he says something along the lines of " but I love you Debbie Mathers what a tangles web we have cause one thing I never asked was where my dead beat dad was fuck it I guess he had trouble keeping up with every address but I'd flip every rock and desert cactus own a collection of maps and follow my kids to the edge of the atlas someone ever removed them from me that you could bet your asses. @@roneshawilliams76 Oh snap, it is. I'm sorry your "father" has caused your family so much strife. He was extremely disrespectful and almost downright hateful. Best of luck to you all in the future.

Better to forgive than hold all that anger cuz it will ruin your life, let it go. The eldest son is really angry cuz he was there and went through everything with his mother. The dad is a piece of work but one day he will regret disconnecting from his children if he already don't and to much pride to tell them he sorry and he want a relationship with his grown children.

I'm just stuck on the part he said this woman raped him. Poor excuse for a man and even poorer excuse for a father.

Man, and i thought that guy from Maury; Tracy was bad. This guy is way worse. Those kids are better off without him.
