That infertility one really hit me in the heart. When we decided to try for a baby I got pregnant after two months, but I had an early miscarriage and I haven't had a single pregnancy since. It's been over two years now and we've done fertility testing, but we were told that there is nothing medically wrong with either of us so it was classified as "Unknown infertility". We were supposed to start IUI early this year, but with COVID we weren't able to anymore, so we've been continuing to try naturally but still have had no luck. People (especially my mom) ask me all the time if I'm pregnant yet, or when are we having kids and it is really hard to hear. I wish I knew the answer, you know? And it's really difficult to reply. If I just say something like, "I don't know, we're trying!" I get things like, "It will happen when you are ready" and, "You better start soon, you're not getting any younger!" and, "just relax! You're stressing too much about it!" which of course makes me feel WORSE, as if I am doing something to prevent pregnancy. So I absolutely agree... just don't ask. If someone wants to share their fertility journey with you, then they will bring it up. And the best way to be supportive is just to listen and be there for them.

I don't know about the US, but in the Netherlands the waiting list for a donor is about 2.5 years. So if you're ready to get children in your thirties, it might be worth checking the waiting list. I was furious with myself for not having looked it up, forme it made the difference between being below or above 35.

Hi Dr. Crawford! Love your videos! Any chance for a video on Turner Syndrome? I'm 37 now and would love to get some new information on it. It's been a while since I stopped with my growth hormone therapy and have been flying pretty much on autopilot since then. Any new and more current info and practices would be very welcome.

Yes, comments/questions are so hurtful! I have PCOS and my MIL stated that my SIL's dogs are the closest they will have to grandchildren, and while she didn't mean to hurt me it was like a knife in my heart.

I wonder how the child would feel, having their moms demanding the biological father only be called the 'donor'. It seems we're all about the parents' feelings these days and not the child's.

Happy to answer this Emma, as I’m one of the moms in this video. We use biological father to our kids. The language has changed as our kids have gotten older which we’ve discussed heavily on our channel. We’ve used what’s appropriate. However, when talking to us, he is our donor.

Would love to see a video about frozen embryo transfers. I’m 39, with PCOS and have 1 son via IVF and contemplating a FET soon. ( working on lowering BMI first) my embryos are from age 34. Is my clock ticking?

Hi! Can you elaborate more on the not taking the placebo pills and skipping your period? I thought it was good to have a period each month, cleans it out and lowers risk of cervical cancer?
@NatalieCrawfordMD
@NatalieCrawfordMD 4 жыл бұрын
Jessica Reyes in natural months yes but if taking progesterone every day (like the active pills) you will prevent endo cancer and it’s fine to skip!

Caffeine for a boy? I was drinking 2-3cups of coffee right before I found out I was pregnant and got twin girls🎉 The doc is right, there's no scientific basis for tricks to get the desired sex

LOVE IT! Please can you speak about what it was like to treat patients with infertility while pregnant (if you were while working) and how you use your own experiences in your practice. Do you share your history with patients.
@NatalieCrawfordMD
@NatalieCrawfordMD 3 жыл бұрын
I almost always share my history (so many patients follow me on IG and know already) but I always share. It normalizes the experience. It was super hard to have infertility and treat patients. I then hid my pregnancy as long as possible because I felt guilty. It was a hard spot. A few patients left my care when I was pregnant because it was too hard for them to have a pregnant doctor, I get it and supported them.
