There's a romance trope called 'close proximity' in which the two protagonists, who usually dislike each other but don't need to, are forced to share a small, enclosed space to get to know each other and be forced to get along. 'Only one bed' is a bit of a joke among romance readers and especially fanfiction writers as it is the most common use of the close proximity trope in which two people are forced to share a bed, because there was only one. It is a bit of a cliche but a VERY well loved one. Hope that helped!
