Atrial Fibrillation is a serious heart disorder that can greatly increase the risk of stroke. So the question, does the keto diet cause a-fib, is very serious and deserves an answer. Risk for a-fib goes up with age, so sharing this video with older friends and relatives seem wise.
There are conditions that we know can lead to a-fib. there are other conditions that are strongly associated with a-fib, but may not cause it. But, is there a diet that increases your risk of a-fib???
There have been stories in the news, and on TV saying that a certain diet can increase the risk of A-Fib. If this is true, then we should avoid this diet. If this is not true, then we should try and understand what's really going on...

I was first diagnosed with A-Fib in January 2015. In 2018 I had 3 A-Fib episodes that lasted about 12 hours each. I started Keto & IF in November 2018. My last visit with the cardiologist was this past January. My blood pressure was 120/72. I am on BP medication and I have never seen my blood pressure this low. Since this visit I have been keeping track of my BP and it has been consistent with the visit. I can't believe it in 16 years the doctors have not been able to control my BP, they never gave me any helpful advice except of course to lose weight but how. I have been on every diet conceivable and then some. I will be 77 in May and this is the first time that I actually see a silver lining at the end of a cloud. I have lost 20 lbs and 8" and hit "onederland" in February. I haven't been under 200 lbs since the 1980's. Oh! by the way I eat lots of eggs. A lot cheaper than meat.

Now there is another new "study" suggesting that women don't do as well (actually gain weight) on a Keto diet as men. One thing about this stuff is that you have an endless supply of content to answer the confusion of everything that is said about low carb high fat diets in the media. Really appreciate your knowledge and your channel Ken!

I'm 63 now and I've had the occaisonal episode of tachycardia since i was 10yo, a really fast Normals sinus rhythim heartbeat that could get up as high as 300 bpm. In my youth, i could relax, do valsalvas and it would correct itself in an (uncomfortable) hour or so. But, recently i began having them really frequently and valsalvas and relaxing and breathing weren't stopping the racing heart. Nor were the supplements i was taking helping that much anymore. I couldn't work more than 2 days at a time before I'd have an episode that would flatten me, leave me feeling without energy, like I was barely alive. I stopped caffeine, chocolate, sugar. I took many supplements and they did seem to help me feel better but it was becoming clearer that the next tachycardia episode would likely kill me. I told a fb friend about my heart problems and she encouraged me to start keto diet. I started Keto the beginning of February and I have not had another episode of tachycardia since I started the diet. It also has stopped the malignant heartbeats, the SVT's. Everyone needs to know that keto diet can treat serious heart problems.

I was on cymbalta for years. It caused me Afib . I had all the tests done including an angiogram. My cardiologist said there was nothing he could do at this point. I was having hundreds of episodes a day. I really thought I was going to die. I started keto January 1st. Then carnivore February 12th. I've had ZERO episodes since the middle of January. My heart used to freaking out all day, everyday. It put me under a lot of stress. I can actually relax and breath now. It's a huge weight off me. Keto and carnivore are a life saver in my eyes.

Sorry, but my husband is a hard working mechanic. I ask customers all the time when they come back and say they want their money back, or fix it some more for free. If you go to a specialist and he doesn't fix your health problem, you still have to go back and pay to see him again. So why must mechanics forgo charging again when another problem comes up after fixing the previous problem? An engine is just like the human body. Works the same way. Mechanics are treated like vermin and it's not fair.

Anton Bouchette: I think the “junk claiming to be healthy” is the category keto threatens most. Supermarket shelves are groaning under the weight of ‘fat reduced’ products and ‘heart healthy this’ and ‘heart healthy that’ and ‘calorie reduced the other’. I’m sure they slap a surcharge on these products just because they put the word ‘healthy’ on the label.

I became carnivore because of my AFib. Within four months my cardiologist took me off of the Metropol and at 10 months he cut the Flecanide in half and my take off of it entirely in six more months. I’ve gone from 7/8 strong heart flutters a day down to 1 or two a week and are so mild I barely notice. My sleep apnea has gone from moderately severe at 22 down to mild at 11. I’m carnivore for life because life is carnivore.

Interesting.. I was diagnosed with having A-fib, my aunt died of a stroke caused by A-fib, my mother is taking medication for A-fib... My story, as long as I avoid carbs (mainly wheat--bread) I have zero symptoms, but one slice of bread and I can count on heavy chest, short breath and rapid heart rate... I'm no doctor, but for me the answer is clear, good healthy fats, protien, and carbs from above the ground veggies is what my body likes, and now that my blood pressure went from 135/89 to 110/65 my doctor likes it too... Sadly no Keto doctors in Panama, so I'm out of luck asking any cardiologist. He'll take me out of keto in a flash. As a child my heart rate was so fast that my mother took me to many docs to figure out the issue. My heart was healthy, they found nothing wrong. On her own, she took me off sugar and that's what slowed it. Of course, as a teen and into adulthood I fell into bad habits so my heart rate increased. At age 40 I ended up in the hospital with A-fib. That day I had a bad combo of tons of sugar, anxiety meds, caffeine and alcohol. Since I have tried many different ways of eating to improve my condition even eating a plant based, whole foods no added sugar diet. Nothing. Until I began keto. It wasn't just added sugar but what carbs did as well. Keto keeps my A-fib at bay. No better way to eat. Thanks for the video!

As someone who has suffered with PVCs and PACs that also cause chest tightness and breathlessness for 25 years, I was hyper vigilant about my electrolytes while doing keto. My palps had been under control thanks to magnesium supplements for about four months prior to starting keto. Unfortunately, my palps got so bad on keto that it was causing me to lose sleep and made daily life a trial. I’ve noticed others in the arrhythmia groups I belong to have the same issues on keto. Makes me wonder what it is in each individual’s chemical make up that determines how a person will react. Best of luck to you all! I’m truly happy for those who have had such great successes. Unfortunately, I’m not one of those.

I have history of palpitations but always normal rhythm when checked. I’m 3 weeks into keto, waking in night with palpitations despite taking electrolyte drops in my water all day. I only have one cup of coffee each morning, going to stop that and the little dark unsweetened chocolate I was having, and hope that the palpitations don’t force me to stop

I wonder that too zuzupetal ! I've eaten carnivore this week & was highly motivated, YET I had the same symptoms you described !! Those symptoms quickly resolved when I ate some carb. Like you, I'm wondering if some people have a certain bio-chemistry that cannot tolerate "strict" carnivore. And if some may not even be able to tolerate a ketogenic diet without having arrhythmias &/or weakness due to their bio-chemistry. I'm a nurse & very curious about any bio-chemical link that might exist.

Dr. Oz lost my respect when he disinvited Dr. Berg to his show in 2011 with no explanation. I think his handlers represented Dr. Berg as a keto advocate and Oz couldn’t handle the controversy. An alternate explanation is that Oz is sponsored by Oprah who has an interest in anti-keto weight watchers.

No dizziness, fainting, chest pain, etc. Able to work out, etc..but I just couldn't catch my breath. I was freaking out. I just made and drank a salty drink and IT STOPPED! Thank goodness, I'm now relaxing. I used a liter of water, 1/2 t. No Salt (potassium), 1/2 t. Real Salt, fresh squeezed juice of a lemon and some pickle juice mixed together. I believe I drank about a half cup. I put some in half liter water bottle and will start sipping throughout the day.

I've been doing Keto for a while, I have tachycardia. At first, Keto seemed to help and I was doing well, then things went crazy. I began to have a lot of problems. Heart palpitations, chest pain and I began to hurt all over. I thought, man I have really screwed up, because I felt like I was dying. I had an injury that contributed to having pericarditis. I couldn't do the drugs they want you to take so I looked for natural cures. In the process of doing this, I came across an interesting video on parasites. I started taking a parasite cleanse and all of the symptoms disappeared. Now the Keto diet is working well. Before it was still hard to lose the weight, now without changing anything else the weight is coming off and I am having fewer heart-related problems as time goes on.

@@ashleytipton5733 I bought two different products one was Parafree (tincture) and the other was Para guard (gel tab) they both can be found on Amazon the ingredients are very similar and they are the same ones that Dr. Berry advises in his video on parasites. I have used both and they both work well. The taste of the tincture is bitter, so by taking the geltab you avoid the taste. I also know that the longer you take them the better. My daughter took them for a month and a half and suddenly passed some serious parasites. If you stop before they are completely gone they addapt and are harder to get rid of. There is a period of time when you don't feel like your doing anything but there is more because a lot of them are in the bloodstream, they will die off and you may feel bad, have fatigue even have flu like symptoms.
