Thank you so much to Nam from ‪@AfroVietTV‬ for hanging with me and eating some delicious food.
First off we went to a local market in Vietnam to eat some really local food that not many people know about, xoi chien. Fried sticky rice stuffed with an assortment of mushroom and pork, then topped with a sweet sticky chili sauce. But before that we had to grab a few of our favorites like some dried fruit and then a nuoc mia. No day in Vietnam is complete without a cool and refreshing nuoc mia.
Then Nam took me for something which I haven’t done in Vietnam, eat some African cuisine. I must say the Okra soup was nice, but the Egusi was something special. Spicy and the perfect texture, not to mention the plethora of meat the dish came with, it was an exquisite dining experience and I can’t wait to go back.
Thanks again to Nam and I look forward to exploring more of Vietnam with you brother!

@@dulichbongda My greeting "Hey" is an informal form of Hello. It is another way of greeting in Southern USA, as in If I am talking with Max, who is from Arkansas, my home state, and as we say good bye, I would ask him to "say hey to your family." Phuc Map is from Florida, though in the south, but not considered as the true south, but he gets what the word "hey" means. Not in a rude way by any stretch of the imagination. Thank you for trying to educate me, nonetheless.

Oh wow! We have Africans in Vietnam? Never knew! 🙌🙌💖💖 Our food is soooo diverse in every country, plus regions and tribes within each country so there's no "African food" in general. There are hundreds of thousands of dishes all over the continent.
@MinhNguyen-ff6xf
@MinhNguyen-ff6xf 3 жыл бұрын
I agree. The term “African food” sounds too general as if Africa was a country. I would love something more specific like Congolese food, Kenyan food, Zimbabwe food, Nigerian food, and so on.

I love okra. I don't mind the slime however, I fry it in a dry skillet before using it in soups. It does help with the slime. I could really go for some of that stew right now. It's a rice thief just because you can't get a good bite of the stew. I guess the slime makes it slick. Great video👍

Sudden rain in summer! We used to call it Thunder Rain which happens a lot in my country. Nothing is cooler than having a darn, fun and cool bath in the the Thunder Rain during long, bored, and hot summer days. Oh...it brings back a lot of memories from my childhood years in Vietnam. Back then, we were constantly hungry due to shortage of food everywhere right after the war ended. Life was hard but full of good memories. It's been 40 years since I left VN and haven't returned. One day, I will.
