A Fishermen's Dream...GIANT Dolphin-Catch Clean Cook

A slow day turned EPIC with a Giant Dolphin! I went out with Adam from @MovinWeightFishing and my buddy CJ. We started the day by catching live bait such as sardines and cigar minnows. Then we headed offshore in search of Dolphin, kingfish, snapper and tuna! We ended the video by having a big cookout with friends and family. I made Blackened seared blackfin tuna over an arugula salad, followed by dolphin fingers, and then mahi-mahi sliders.

I had a small Mahi last week and filleted it like usual, but then decided to make soup with the head and skeleton. I poached the bones in the simmering soup for about 20 mins, and was shocked at how much meat came off the skeleton, that I usually throw away. The soup was amazing as well.

Well some fish may taste good so they may not be trash in that way, but a lot of fish are just way too bony that cleaning them isn’t worth it. they may not taste bad but they’re trash when it comes to the process of cleaning and have very little meat so in the end it’s not worth it when there’s many more fish that are better.

Nice! Dolphin is my absolute favorite fish to catch and eat! It’s the filet mignon of the ocean. There is nothing better than catching them and either grilling or blackening them fresh. 🤤

@@stephanieb1719 yeah i googled dolphin meat and that’s what came up unfortunately. 🤷🏽‍♂️ anyone can scribe a word a meaning but it doesn’t mean its correct. the only two accepted names around the world for this fish is mahi-mahi or dorado…dolphin is some floridian bath salt shit they came up with. but i heard dolphin meat tastes like beef liver and carries the risk of mercury poisoning. 👍🏽 go to japan and ask for dolphin.

Vic - you’re an amazing cook. Try oiling down your grill grate just prior to putting your meat/fish on the grill. Take some paper towels and put some veg. Oil on the paper towel and rub it on hot grate - you can put paper towel in tongs if grill is too hot. Cleans /seasons the grill as well as helping non-stick properties.
