Psyched for this show, you groovy cats! Big fan of the first three AFOS since the early 80s. (Of course, the “cute little redheaded girl down the block” turned me onto them, Berlin and a lot of other new wave bands back in the day.) Sergeant Schnee nailed it PERFECTLY. Their legacy was tarnished by those nutty hairstyles of the time. Add in the barbs over the decades from movies (The Wedding Singer, Pulp Fiction) and TV shows & voila… reputation and legacy ruined. Much like Winger. But that’s another story for a different time. I started this but have to head out to work now. Hopefully, l can finish it on my overnight shift. My favorite song by this band has always been Space Age Love Song. I Ran is great, Wishing are songs I never tire of. I have not heard much of them beyond the third album.

This is definitely one of my favorite new wave bands icehouse and simple minds are my other 2 favourites as a flock of seagulls my top ten for today are (it's not me) talking, suicide day, remember David, standing in the doorway, story of a young heart, electrics, heart of steel, you can run, over the border, and wishing( I had a photograph of you) special mention to some later stuff better and better and hot tonight and cry like a baby from a dream come true and rainfall, burning up and magic from light at the end of the world and although I could've gone with all of the popular hits as I said in the chat their album cuts are even stronger than their singles that's how awesome this band was

There's a lot of different versions of Wishing on KZbin. My favourite is the 5min 30 sec version. It has a great instrumental part at the end. The guitar part comes in and it just sounds great - it's the best part of the song. The 9 minute version is too long (typical of the 80's when bands did 12 inch versions and stretched out songs far too long)and the 4 minute version doesn't have as long an instrumental part at the end.

Yeah a couple commenters already mentioned but I was disappointed the panelists didn’t rank Remember David and the ominous, foreboding The Fall. Listen to me is THE DEFINITIVE AFOS record🤩
