Hello! I MADE AN ERROR IN THE VIDEO! I meant to say I printed the text with a LASER printer, not inkjet. I am so sorry!!!! I felt terrible while doing the voice over and feared I would make a mistake. I am sorry. YES, you use a LASER printer with decofoil!

I have the go press and foil and Todo have does a plane metal plate too and has done for several years. Also anyone wondering that has a electronic cutting machine ie scan n cut the WRMK foil quill is brilliant but reduce reduce your draw pressure to a minus for best results and slow the speed down. Thank you for all your tutorials xx

I received my solid hot foil plate and foiled the alphabet then proceeded to foil the letters then used the negative to foil a second set - you said it best “GAME CHANGER”!! Best set ever. I didn’t stencil with all six stencils - just used the first 3 and they’re still beautiful!

So glad you love it
@corinne16913 жыл бұрын
Absolutely brilliant, had to stop the video to rush off and order it before they ran out! Don’t forget that when you die cut your image out of the negative foiling all of the rest of the solid foil can be used to die cut regular sentiments out of or can just use the solid plate to foil an entire piece of card stock and keep it to die cut anything from, sentiments, flower parts from layered flower dies, cut thin pieces as accent strips etc. So many uses! As soon as I get my ordered plate I plan to do a solid foiled card of every color of foil I have and just keep them as “foiled cardstock” to store with my specialty cardstock to use for accent strips on my cards

OH MY GOODNESS! I haven't really been on the fence... I've just been trying to convince myself I don't need this...I have clearly been lying to myself! I've been on the fence because the major expense of the machine would open the door to the potentially major expense of adding hot foil dies to my stash. After watching this video, I'm still in the fence but closer to falling onto the "save up and buy the machine" side.

The reverse foiling effect can be achieved using the glimmer foil on cardstock in the laminator. Surround with parchment paper just like the deco foil example. No need to print anything first. No need for the new plate if you already have a laminator.
@kerrya31113 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!!
@cindym98513 жыл бұрын
Do you cover the cardstock with the Deco paste in order to achieve this? How is it done….I’m very interested?
@kimdad88313 жыл бұрын
No need to use the paste as this foil is activated by heat the foil used with the Deco paste is only 'activated' by adhesive, it is the heat that makes the deco paste sticky. I'd you try to use heat activated foil with the paste you will get a poor result as the foil will grab everywhere it can when the heat is applied with laminater. Hope that helps
@lisastewart63733 жыл бұрын
My Gemini Foil Press came with a metal plate, which should produce the same negative foiling effect - I have not tried it yet, but will soon. Anyone else try it yet? Were the results the same as shown in this video?

HOW WAS THIS NOT INVENTED SOONER?! 🤩 Ok, in reality, I can’t justify investing in the whole Glimmer System for my craft space just yet, but I still go google-eyed over your foiling videos. This week I printed a bunch of sentiments in toner and used up some old foils that I had, and just yesterday I was thinking how much foil I wasted from the negative space, even though the pattern was still pretty. Watching this full-foil plate at work was so satisfying, and definitely solves a problem and creates less waste! BRILLIANT!! 👏👏👏

Super helpful video, Jennifer! Thank you! Until today, I have thrown away the negative foil, which has always bugged me as it is such a waste. Instead of the hot foil plate, I used the metal shim plate I use for intricate die-cutting on my Sizzix Big Shot. The metal shim works perfectly with my foiling machine (Go Press & Foil) with absolutely no warping. I also had a pack of Yupo paper sitting in the drawer, so I decided to give that a try. Wow! Stunning results!!

I didn't notice your note above and went ahead and tried using an ink jet printer. It actually worked to an extent but besides foiling the lettering it left a 'spray' of foil where the lettering wasn't. It gives it a kind of grunge look and for some projects this is fine. Thank you for your mistake as I wouldn't have tried using the ink jet printer if you had said laser!
