Classic October weather, a mixed bag similar to your shirt:) cheers.

Was working that storm day on the south coast trying to lay a concrete base , the only way to get cement in the mixer was to throw the whole bag in . I remember going about 40 mph in 4th against it in the van . A long long drive home with all the felled trees , walls and general debris .

Michael Fish got the blame, but he was reading another weather forecasters prediction!😢 I remember it quite well, as a metal dustbin went flying through the air, down the small hill outside my house in London! It was about four or five foot off of the ground!!!😮 Many trees came down on side streets and Wandsworth Common.

Remember the storm in 87 watched a roof fly off a block of flats and also the oaks of Sevenoaks went as well ….

Poor Michael. I used to watch the farmer's weekly weather on BBC Sunday. He forecast severe gales but because he gave a technical answer to that woman, I think she was in France, he has been slated ever since. Of course, it wasn't a hurricane, technically, it was hurricane force winds

Why are we getting more mild muck weather than artic weather these days
@christophertaylor60822 ай бұрын
They certainly were not spraying the skies in a naughts n crosses pattern back in 87 , sadly they are now successfully and constantly blocking out our precious sunlight will this lead to a colder winter also combined with a strong La Niña ?

October can do one I hate it as frost seem to be noon existent
@Hugh-nr5sx2 ай бұрын
It's warmer than April and like March can have huge differences between the beginning and end of the month. Part of the problem if you like re frosts is how wet the ground is.. dry conditions are much more susceptible than wet especially when temperatures only dip for a few hours.

We need to say what happens regarding the rest of October and in to November.

Forecasters look at trends. It's almost impossible to look a month ahead in the UK with its maritime climate .

Mild is so subjective, your mild has me wearing 3 layers indoors. "Weathermans's mild" is horrid, damp, foul weather for some, bearable for a some others.

I wonder if anyone did really phone the Met office🤔 a really strange thing to say on a live tv forecast, don’t think anything similiar has ever been mentioned… but hey it’s on the bbc so it must be true 🤣

Brian, is this a record? You got two minutes into your forecast without mentioning the dreaded uncertainty word. 🤣
@johnclarke13192 ай бұрын
Lets be clear. if you turn the AC down to 17C, everyone at work would complain it is freezing cold, so lets not call it 'mild' You don't need to make excuses: you report the weather you don't make it. weathermen's euphemisms are an unneeded excuse for the lousy British weather.
