Kind of interesting to see how episode 2 changed so much through its production, no shootout scene, no Andross on the train with Pigma getting his tooth shot out, at the very least this song was reworked to fit into the stand-off scene, it’s just so good I wouldn’t want to see a song like this just up and disappear

No, these scenes were never fully finished, however the rough draft of the train car scene and details on it can be found in the 2018 Q&A stream on episode 2, found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rofMn4N8hrCEq6M This was when episode 2 was in a relatively planned out state, the only bits that really changed between then and now is the talk James has with Coba/Dess (which also happens to change the reason why Dess is dying, Pigma had originally stabbed him on his way to the back of the train but in the new script Dess was poisoned before boarding the train) and that James gets taken to a car in restraints and driven to Andross (rather than Andross being on the train himself and shooting James while James uses the mint from the bar as a projectile to hit Pigma in the tooth). The whole stream is 2 hours long, so if you want to learn about some of the things that never made it into episode, there's a lot there to digest.

+El Fix Kinda makes sense though. Most people who played Star Fox as a kid are now grown up. I played it a lot on my N64 and am now 25 trying to get into art and what not because of the 90s/early 2000's rich history of games and cartoons. So glad I was born in the 90s and not later. In around a decade most of my generation/age group are going to start making some awesome games and animation. You can already see the trend coming, especially with all the space games coming out.

Loved episode 2, but the image of this one always stuck in my mind for years, was really hoping for a bit of an action ending leading to a sendoff into 64 like what always has been implied about pigma's betrayal instead of another cliffhanger. No reason to get hung up on what if's though, still love what we got, look forward to how you and the team wrap it up Gafford. Good luck.

I felt the same. In the final product, Pigma's betrayal is simply him walking into a dark room, and by the time James realizes he's been betrayed, there's nothing he can do about it. The image _here_ implied Pigma lured him into an ambush and James got killed in the shootout, maybe saving Peppy's life. I dunno, gives James a bit more agency and Pigma a more active role. I still like what we got, but this image of a tense parking garage shootout always captured my imagination.

I feel there's still room for something like this since we haven't actually had his death. Not sure how it would connect but it's possible. Seeing this music ended up being used for the betrayal we got tells me it's not going to go over like this in the end.

Yeah completely agree. The train scene is awesome but Pigma's role was pretty reduced - James still probably would've gotten captured even if Pigma hadn't been there. Maybe we'll still see something down the road, but would've loved a proper "turn" from Pigma that blindsides James and Peppy.

This scene alone had been through many many Changes, Originally James, Peppy, and Pigma were meant to be in an abandoned part of Venom where they meet Dess. Dess was stabbed and killed and James got what he needed. But Pigma gets "Captured" by 3 armed guys. James realizes this was set up by Pigma which Caused the standoff. But It was changed to what it is now, The Train Standoff with the Lemurs. The image of this video was more likely a Render of what an Updated version looked like of the scene.
