A Fox with his head stuck in a wheel.. We have Deja vu!

Well, he’s not the first and, sadly, he probably won’t be the last…
"Tyrese"(see what we did there), found himself in a spot of bother, last week, and if you've been following us on socials for a while, you'll be very aware that this isn't the first fox we’ve admitted with its head stuck in a wheel. 😣
Rescued by the RSPCA (England & Wales) , we suspect there must have been something tasty through the hole, and once Tyrese's ears were through, he was unable to pull his head back out. Thankfully, the caller had seen the tyre the evening before, fox free, so Tyrese hadn't been trapped for too long, but it was still long enough for him to cause a large amount of swelling to his lower jaw, in his fight for freedom.

Poor foxy :( Hope he makes a full recovery. Considering what comes in at human-sized ERs every day, foxes might be smarter than humans, but they got the deck stacked against them in terms of obstacles. People really should take more care...

I remember the little one that did this before. This is probably that one's kid. They must have a genetic predisposition to liking tires. 😂 Glad it was fairly easy to remove this one!

Awesome rescue, WAF and RSPCA! Such wonderful teamwork ❤. Wasn’t the first fox-in-tire rescue where Simon invented his use of a thin plastic sheath to use as a cone around the animal’s head to pull it out of the hole, thereby avoiding having to cut the animal out? It was such a simple, yet brilliant solution, and the animal didn’t end up greased up and even more terrified. I have never forgotten this, and think it should be taught everywhere! ❤❤❤

Mice? I had a stack of tires in my yard with the inner part still attached on one. And there was a large plastic tub standing on it, creating a dry area underneath. Promptly, a family of mice dug a tunnel underneath the tires and set up a nest inside.

Use a 2 liter bottle to create a sheet to insert between the wheel and the neck , draw both out together .
