Yep I’ve detailed that in my social posts on LinkedIn and twitter. Didn’t bother here as it’s impossible to show in a video

Hey Tim thanks for the helpful video. Do you know if this can be used for commercial use?

Yes tableau public is used for commercial use already.

@@TableauTim Interesting, what would stop organisations from switching from normal creator licences to public. If only using local data sources and saving local workbooks, it feels like it would meet a large proportion of use cases?
@TableauTim5 ай бұрын
@@dpjdpj Nothing. A considerable amount of tableau usage is connected to databases not covered in this release. Every Tableau customer I've worked with in the last decade has needed to connected to server or cloud and databases. BUT if your a small tema in an org exploring licenses yes absolutely grab this version try your use case with an excel or csv export and if it works then grab a license and get it connected to the real thing.

Hey Tim, I Tableau within my enterprise setting for a variety of things and have learned a lot from your videos, so thank you very much for that. I do have a question regarding the locally saved files. Does this mean that what is done with data in tableau public 1.2 is saved ONLY locally and not shared or accessible to the public what so ever? For example, if a user wants to build visualizations with personal finance data… that data is stored solely on their machine and not uploaded to the public server? Thanks again for all the awesome content Tim!

Correct you don’t even need a tableau public account
