48 here, and just started doing FBW with maps anabolic. I'm no longer sore and have been seeing gains. I walk 10+ steps on non workout days.

My routine is chest/back, legs, shoulders, arms/tricips, day off/cardio, full body, day off/ cardio. Works very well for me with recovery and seeing gains

I started doing PPL twice, upper lower body after and I'm doing strength training full body and man I love it, I like the compound lift deadlift, overhead press and squats and thinking that I can do squats and few times at week, give me a lot of motivation and wait for the next workout. Also I can still do my pull ups and dips. I love them. So with the others splits I felt very tired during the days so I have a to do deloads very often, with the PPL I got injured twice when I tried to play other sports, upper and lower split, it is good but I cant practice conventional deadlift often.

Same for me, I'm 45 and I do full body Mon, Wed, Fri, and focus on what i call the big 7: Squats, deadlifts, bench, rows, OHP, dips, and pull ups! I also work in some functional unilateral movements to prevent imbalances

I do twice a week. One intensity day and other volume. Love it . Godd recovery and gains in strength and size.

I started out using a PPL split and had to drop my leg day as I'd push it so hard I wouldn't be able to sit on the toilet comfortably afterwards. Moved to a PPA (arms) by breaking the Squats onto Push and Deadlift onto Pull which helped a ton, but after awhile on that I wasn't getting the frequency I needed; I was recovered for days before hitting multiple groups again. So now I do a 3x "full" body and Its going great. Day 1/3 are Quads, Day 2 is Ham/Glute/Erectors, and all 3 have a slot for each of the groups I'm prioritizing.

I do a upper lower split hit every body part twice a week. Been working pretty well. The pumps are still great.

I never feel the same pump/focus from doing full body workouts as I do with my modified “ primary/secondary bro split“ where I hit every body part 2X per week.

I do full body every other day with 3 mile ruck 5 times a week plus work full time. Carnivore baby! Stay hard son! 54 years old.

I am currently running a PPL for Monday through Wednesday and full body on Thursday with three days off after and this is working great for me. I run it that way to keep it four days a week as that is when I have access to a gym. I have done Full body before and I am too bad to overdue the lifts on it. I have an easier time on PPL and Upper/Lower due to this. Which would you say works best for someone like myself that never misses a workout.

I’m thinking about giving a switching back and forth routine a try. One week do a 3 day full body, and the next do 6 short full body workouts. Thoughts?

Full Body 2-3 times a week is all you need. You grow outside of the gym.

Recovering isn’t about days off. recovering is about enough protein to recover the muscle tear, and enough sleep hours. If you eat more than a gram for pound and sleep 8-10 hours it’s very hard to overtrain

To reduce body fat you need muscle, with 3 days of full body you can build a lot of muscle doing the main lifts

You can absolutely crush your weightlifting goals with 3x/week. Losing weight and reducing body fat are going to be determined by maintaining a calorie deficit primarily through diet.

It’s a really good balance, weight train the 3 days and do lighter cardio on off days. Losing weight is dependent on eating at a deficit.
