If you are looking for 24 volt stuff the 12ht was also used in the imported 1980s toyota coaster bus so you may try coaster or truck wreckers since all coasters are 24 volt so some parts may be interchangeable. The A/C compressor may also be the same as well as alternator but I am not sure since they used 2 V belts on the A/C.

Awesome! I'm doing the same to my BJ60 in Canada. At least you don't have rust to deal with!! Mine isn't too bad though. My suggestion: put an 80 series rear wiper on it.

I have one exactly like that, and now it is fully fitted for fun with all the fruit A-Z. Also comes with cable lockers F+R. 24v is a nightmare for spare parts as is the automatic transmission. In foresight after 10 years of ownership I wouldn’t spend any money on yours to make it into an off-road vehicle. Local 12v with 5 speed manual will serve you much better off-road.

Oh yes. That’s one Smoooth looking vehicle. I can just imagine it once had a radio with an on/ off button and a dial knob to change channels. Unlike today when an instruction manual is just about needed every time to do those two functions. I’ll be very interested to see how you test out the snorkel.

Hi Wayne. We haven’t spent any long driving hours in the old girl yet but we have noticed how fresh the gearbox seems for it’s age. Granted, this vehicle has rather low kilometres but usually automatics that have spent time in japan or just heavy traffic in Australia have problems between first and second gear. It definitely hasn’t had a hard life. Transmission oil looks and smells good but we will service it anyway. For what it is (the last of the autos in landcruisers that had no electronics) we are pretty impressed so far. Thanks for the topic, mate!

Used to own a 1989 HJ61 until last year. Great at offloading. The steering on this bad and will stay poor. The axles and all the bearings need to be changed.. if your 12ht is leaking then being Australia is the best place to be. For suspension i suggest getting some ARB setup.. if its rusting better discard the entire body and get a new one.. if sunroof is working then you are a lucky gentleman. Get rid of the bull bar and extended bumpers if you want to enjoy the highway.. 12ht wasnt made for highway.. its mostly a desert warrior.

😂😂😂there’s not such thing as a Hj62
@AquaMarine1000
@AquaMarine1000 4 жыл бұрын
@@jakethomasgarner1886 Yes you are right if you are in North America. There is a FJ62, the "F" denotes a petrol engine. At least here in Australia the 62 version of the sixty series also came with a diesel engine and this is where the HJ62 came to be, the "H" for diesel engine. My understanding the 12HT made by Hino in Japan may be unique to Australian Land Cruisers. The same goes for the 105 variant of the 100 series made solely for the Australian market - 100 series body with barn doors at back on 80 series chassis etc. Google information on Land Cruisers generally has a North American model bias. What ever this model is, it a beauty. The sixty series are becoming rare because of their rust problems. Cheers - Land Cruiser owner for over forty years.
