Have you ever seen that movie "Never Been Kissed" with Drew Barrymore? Well, today is kind of the adult gay man version of that story...only with love.
I'm sure many people out there can relate to Tyler Boyle's story of being a 30' something gay man who still has yet to fall in love. After being a late bloomer Tyler found himself navigating a very different dating world compared to his heteronormative past life. Along his journey, he figured out 4 key things to help him navigate this new gay world and to hopefully, one day, find love.

I like this a lot. I'm a clinical psychologist, and in my therapy with clients I use something called Narrative Therapy (the person is the person, the problem is the problem) and, much like Liz Gilbert talks about, I "externalise" problems, by defining them and giving them an image or a character, so we can look at their effects on different domains of life (work, relationships, home...) and then claim a position (we we as a person for or against this, and why) - this gives us a springboard to look at what we value, hold in high regard - and these values direct us, right or left, about how to go forward.

Not too mention, that vast array of beauty and masculine poise, in makeing love, to a fellow man, his own. Then ultermately that long walk down the aisle, as they both prepare to marry, saying those too little words, i do. ✝️ ❤ ✝️

Beyond unrequited crushes towards straight male friends, I've never been in love. Like it was mentioned in the episode, gay dating is more intentional where as straight dating is more organic, and I kinda dislike that about gay dating. As a result, I don't pursuit it. I've been learning to focus more on having a better relationship with myself, and learning what I like and what I actually want out of life. I feel more content focusing on myself, and I don't have some urge to find the so called one. However, that doesn't mean I wouldn't date someone if I met a guy I liked one day.

I've dated but honestly never been able to ake anything last longer than 6 months. I thought I was weird or broken. This helped.

6 = inner child whose also full of joy, fun and playfulness. Hes full of wisdom in my opinion. Id say there talking about the shadow aspect of the child only who will tantrum etc. I believe he just needs love and support from you the parent. Not to judge and supress him. Lol I loved the tough love attitude: be a big boy, roll your sleeves up and do what you have to do. I have (really) been in love twice, I am in love right now and fortunately it is recoprocate. However a lot of these pieces of advice can definitely be applied to my current situation, and to many I guess, because I still sometimes can be childish, I have my BIG demon, or get lost in non-realistic fantasies; so I really appreciate this. I never found someone to connect emotionally. It's like no guy would like to discuss something meaningful (usually, they get protective of project insecurities) or be open for something more than casual sex either. Guess, my social anxiety gets in my way when trying to approach guys I would like to know, too.
