I don't see any point in making a movie of Joel. Outside of seeing his girlfriend killed, I doubt there's too much that would traumatize him. He's a homicide detective, he'd have seen a lot of shit and he was more than ready to throw down which will be why he only saw a burning effigy of his misses rather than something more sinister. That's all the demon had on him so given we know how his story ends, what's the point, just an hour and a half of him investigating the curse with no consequence?? No one dying? Don't really see much to be had there.
@WolfmansGotNardsАй бұрын
He knew how to beat the curse. The movie could get into how he figured it all out. Maybe show some attempts like at the beginning of Smile 2. Maybe he talks to other victims of the curse. There's so much you could do with his 6 days.
@Stereo_type1982Ай бұрын
@WolfmansGotNards sounds like a shite film tbh mate. They already figured out how to beat it in the first one. And with him being less affected by having a degree of tolerance to trauma due to his occupation and already knowing about the curse there's not much that it can do to him, I'd assume that if he saw anyone else die by the curse it probably wouldn't even have affected him. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is exactly why this wasn't what the second film was about. Killing the drug dealers would probably only have worked as it was the guys brother and the way he killed him. I don't imagine career criminals being too affected by trauma either. You also need to consider if the series has legs for another 2 entries. In 2 I thought it would've carried more weight if the crash Skye was involved in, was also the crash that killed Joel. They can definitely do large scale films on a low budget, there's loads of post apocalypse movies made on low budgets and it would probably actually benefit the movie. Maybe with so many having been affected the demon can just roam a post apocalyptic world freely. Far more interesting avenues than following Joel for 6 days figuring out stuff we already know and not being too bothered by what's going on around him other than that he may die. But knows he can prevent it.
@WolfmansGotNardsАй бұрын
What would be the chances of her crash having Joel involved? That's too coincidental. Especially since she didn't have the curse at that point. You're giving me even more ideas with regards to this. I know you say Joel wouldn't be traumatized due to his job, but I say he would be. I am in the same line of work as Joel in real life and I get traumatized every day. They could play on that, showing that even though he has a hard job, he STILL gets haunted by these visions.

I think it'd be interesting is if Smile 3 is a prequel movie about someone who successfully broke the curse. I have no idea what the whole plot would be but I do have an idea for the ending,. We have a 20 year time skip and the main character is now a parent. They take their kids to watch a live concert of their favorite pop star, Skye Rylie and...well. After Skye Rylie seemingly commits suicide with a large grin on her face, the main character breaks down and tears a guttural scream louder than the cries of the entire audience as the movie cuts to black.

Smile 3, if it is a situation where many people are infected by the Smile Entity, maybe a group of infected people join up with each other and find a way to fight it. Maybe they find a way to confuse the demon so it doesn't know what to do, making the demon panic like "Why isn't it working this time?". Is that interesting?

Kyle should've had a much more screen time in scream 5 for me , according to the original script he did with a great scene cut from the film after he left the bar .

It would've been interesting to see more of what Joel was going through. But Director Parker Finn has said he likes creating new characters and how they would react to the curse/demon. With that I doubt they'll bring the character Joel back just to fill in the gaps of what happened to him for those 6 days. If Smile 3 happens most likely it will be a new victim's story. BTW Congrats for having almost 100K Subs!

I personally think if they ever make a prequel to joel they need to make it a tv show and not a movie because we already know joel and how he probably handled it, because joel was a homicide detective and was mentaly tough, he completely walked passed the hallucination of rose burining like it was nothing, and not to mention we already saw him investigate the curse with rose so joel already had it figured it out by the time he got the curse so really the only plot i can see happening is exploring his trama with his grief from rose from her death and there break up sense in the first movie you can feel the tension between them, so maybe explore those 2 things while at the same time have joel looking for a scumbag to pass the curse to, but see him failing mutpile timee before his final attempt in smile 2 and have his failures drive him crazy like he is trapped and his final attempt in smile 2 was his last hope

They can rinse/repeat the Smile curse with individual characters with different stories over and over.

Smile 3 needs to have holly as the main character who teams up with Morris Gemma Elizabeth and Joshua to battle the world wide curse im sure its gonna be alot of action packed millions of jumpscares and we need to see a flashback of the demons origins and have Holly be the one to bring the curse to an End

One can predict the ending of smile 2 after seeing the trailer A prequel or a spin off could work. Taking place in another Century, for a reason Roanoke comes to mind, could take place during the Salem witch hunt.
@tjfrizzi5965Ай бұрын
Some people only needed the mention it was a Pop Star as the main character and could figure out the ending to the movie. lol

My theory for the demons origins is that the demon itself is a collector of souls that was summoned by a witch in some ritual the witch watched her family be brutally murdered which traumatized her as the crowd watched on with smiles on there faces the witch went into hiding and summoned this demon through witchcraft but for the ritual to work she had to unalive herself in front of a witness thus passing the curse all the way up to the events of smile the witch opened a door for the demon to enter so the demon must be sent back where it came ( just a theory of mine)

It’d be AWESOME if in the 3rd movie yeah there’s chaos, but the main focus(mc) is a chill dude with schizophrenia. So he’d be like “huh so one of the hallucinations is real then”. So it’s a humor take. The way schizophrenias go over them is to not interact with their hallucinations, so it doesn’t get worse . “But since you’re real might as well talk to u. It’d be rude not to. Hello my name is Joe. This is my place. Please don’t mess with my stuff I have a system.” Sees a smiling person: “is that you Mr. Smiley?” “Ok now I’m hallucinating, but is it from you or from me?” And tries small talk.

Love the video and your thoughts but I think my interest in the franchise would check out if they promised something as big as a global curse and then avoided delivering on that. I do like that actor and wish he’d gotten more time in the role, but I feel like backtracking to include him more would be a mistake.

I don’t think the next movie is gonna be an apocalypse I think what’s gonna happen is the person the entity will possess is the person who had the most trauma during the concert

tbh i don't think a global curse can happen in the movie franchise even if the directors wanted too . Because the curse only works on one person , We know this because the only way to get rid of the curse is to pass it on by killing someone , this shows that the entity can only latch onto one person at a time .
@WolfmansGotNardsАй бұрын
We've only ever seen the curse through a chain on singular people. But there's nothing to suggest it can't travel to multiple people at once. We've only ever seen someone kill themselves in front of 1 person before until the end of part 2.

I don't think the curse can be spread via video, so it wouldn't necessarily be a world wide initially at least.

Stupid idea nobody wants a Prequel. Dont let the Genie out of the Lamp at the end of Smile 2 if your not going to follow up with it. I liked Smile 2 but had issues with it and parts of it were dumb. They didn't even include the plot of Killing someone in front of someone to escape the Curse because obviously i could see Skye doing that so easily without a second thought since she technically killed her boyfriend. Unlike Rose in Smile 1 who had more of a good moral code.
@WolfmansGotNardsАй бұрын
You're not letting the genie out of the lamp by doing a prequel to smile 2. Maybe a sequel to part 1 would be considered that.

You know skye is psychologically weak compared to Joel and the entity is more powerful in the new film, also who would explain her the way to pass the curse if no one survived after doing that, like Joel's dead, he is the only one who did it successfully, so yeah that plot cannot be written.
@WolfmansGotNardsАй бұрын
@OrbisBrevi it's your opinion that Skye is weaker than Joel. And that's not enough to suggest that it wouldn't work. Being in Joel's line of work, I can tell you that anyone can crack.
