The video says an atom bomb or virus that kills 1 million in US wont instantly cause a depression now, that it will happen in 2025. That is such a hilarius statement to say that I cant stop from laughing. The virus, drought, hurricanes, floods, freezes, war, 7 chicken virus will cause a depression in July when the drought kills the food crops so there will be no food in the stires. I lived in Korea for seventeen years and was always impressed with the foresight that individuals across Asia demonstrate in their purchases of gold, often on a monthly basis. When the central Bank of Canada sold off its gold reserves a few years ago, one can hardly expect most Canadians to have an understanding of the need to own hard assets. The World Bank came out with a report this year and commented on many countries struggling financially GDP. Probably because of COVID. Then the reporting on food shortages and the dependence on Ukraine and Russia for food and energy. In addition the Europeans are obviously in financial trouble from their energy cutbacks. I don't think Simon appreciates the nuance between the Chinese and CCP and how that plays into Taiwan, which is to say as long as the Chinese people are happy, the CCP won't invade Taiwan. The CCP hold Taiwan as an ace up their sleeve as a counter to Chinese sentiment changing. Eg, The economy tanks = big unemployment = unhappy people = CCP invades Taiwan to deflect.

Different "experts" have been predicting an economic collapse since 2008 at least, so far it hasn't happened. I find it interesting how this guy puts a specific date on the collapse. We'll see is all that can be said. The world's central banks have put off the reckoning so far, but the debt buildup behind the dam is certainly putting more and more pressure on it. Gold seems like a reasonable protective position to me.

Ever since the Crash of 1987, the recession after that, and the globalization soon afterwards in the 1990's, this has been the way of it all. Back then I complained about it and no one cared. Once they got their pink slips from work it all became different. No more capital creation for the middle class because the capital is being funneled up to Wall Street. States are desperate for revenues and the only answer to this is raise taxes and build more casinos. The middle class hangs on by it's bleeding fingers.
