I have a set of original commanders and they are light weight and comfortable, reception is fine. On the downside Aomway support pretty much doesn’t exist, my DVR stopped working after about 6 months and it’s still broken. Another thing no one seems to mention about the original ones was the channel names didn’t match the actual frequency you were on. That might have been fixed with a firmware update but trying to update the firmware is what bricked my DVR. I would just say your taking a risk buying them if something goes wrong.

Awesome content as always. Thank you! So happy all the companies are competing. I know the limitations of RF mean we are stuck at a certain resolution. BUT! Later I purchased the EV800D for I could record and I flow like that for a year, but then I found out that I won a set of Aomway commanders and I have been flying with them since. I would have used search channel, that works faster. One part that those have over my v1 are the headtracker I would like to use it with my fix-wing but I can't find any info on mine anymore. O-well I think when I start to look for a new set I will probably get these. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with the kids;.

I think the shaking that long range tony is talking about is actually caused from the Ratel Camera. I have the same camera on my quad and thought that I had a bad prop or something but when I went back and watched the HD footage, it is smooth as glass. The Ratel camera has a beautiful image quality but does have the cmos shimmer which can sometimes be perceived as jerky or shakey like watching time lapse video.

Let's just hope I don't fall on my face and break them. In my opinion the price/feature set has the attitude v5 beat, and these Aomways come in bottom of the barrel for me. I figure if someday I want to fly crossfire or something then I can look into buying a pair of fatsharks.

You mention the Fat Shark At v5, AOMWAY V1S and SkyZone Sky02. How do the Eachine EV200D stack up with all of these. I like the idea of 2 module bays and a little wider FOV. Historically in this hobby (and I'm talking about FPV as a whole, not the relatively very recent craze of miniquads), we the consumer have had to spend so much money because certain companies over the years have had a monopoly. Very early on, it was ImmersionRC with their OSD and VTXs (who remembers when getting an IRC600 vtx was "naughty") Then, as it became "cool" people with LOTS of money wanted in on the fun, but without wanting to do their homework... that's when Team Black Sheep stepped in with their very pricey equipment and pre-built all in one packages But finally, the ultimate monopoly has been broken... Fatshark have Dominated (see what I did there) the market, mostly because they were pretty much the only ones in the market. I know AOMWAY brought out some goggles a while back, but they were pretty much just as expensive as fatsharks. I'm so happy that now (just when I'm in the market for an upgrade to my box style goggles) there are actually some decent options available at affordable prices.

I like that there is finally a real choice, not just am I going to spend a 100, or 600, which wasn't much of a choice.Ive only tried the Aomway v1, Fatshark Dom v3, Fatshark Hdos, and the ev800s. the Aomways are lightweight, and very comfortable, but the screens seem a little small compared to my Dom v3s. The v3s aren't nearly as comfortable, but the picture is much nicer. The Hdos have a great picture, but it's huge, I'm sure I could get used to it, but I look around too much. The ev800s are box goggles, enough said.I would love to try the Skyzones, but unless I get a free set I probably won't get to try them since my town is just starting to get a few pilots, but I've gotten 3 people started so far, and like Uavfutures I'm trying to help everyone I can. After all it was yall that got me started with the Martian 99.00 build.(after my upgrades it was closer to 200,) Thanks to UAVFUTURES for getting me into such an awesome hobby as fpv(I been flying something for over 20 years) I have started a channel a couple months ago to help others.(editing isn't hard, but figuring it out is a different story, but I'm starting to get it)Anyway, ramble, ramble, ramble, lol, Thanks For everything Stu, Jonno,LRT, ETC, and I know your there somewhere GT!!!

Have always hated the time it takes to change band. That's why I'm always flying on B1, because that way I'm sure I'm on the right frequency=P Thanks for the review, Stu, though I'm not sure why anyone who have the V1 goggle would upgrade to this. When a single board device costs as much as let's say a laptop that's running a motherboard, CPU, GPU, screen, keyboard, wifi, bluetooth, HHD, as well as a OS, the thing that needs to get better is the folks pumping out the goggles. No pair should cost over a few hundred. These 499.99 with no modules or antennas googles need to be removed from the hobby. Just the name says it all.. Fatshark... wtf does a shark have to do with fpv? Oh that's right it's the guy behind the brand who is the fatshark.. All that extra money he is scamming off the hobby got his pockets nice and fat.
