I went, good fun. I didn't see you there, which is a shame, I also didn't do any filming of my own, but I might give it a go next year as this sort of travel vlog is not what I usually do. The coolest thing for me is someone recognised me and had a chat about some of my recent videos and showed me a model they painted (A Soviet commissar! Cool) Maybe next year I'll pick you out of the crowd.

Was a cracking day, saw you there, glad you had a blast. I picked up the Dredd game a few weeks back, mainly I just fancied painting some big, bright, bold 80's sci-fi. It's really opened up a lot of painting options, led me to grab a lot of other random sci-fi minis and stl's. I've also just ordered Priestley's Warlords of Erehwon as well, fancied playing a fantasy battle game with the Bolt Action dice and similar rules. Anyway, couldn't agree more about Warlord staff, fantastic group of hobby enthusiasts and all round lovely people.

I visited this open day too - specifically to get the "Talking Miniatures" book and lots of signatures. I have to agree about being star struck in the room with John Stallard, Robins Dews, Rick Priestly and all the others. They are just so darned friendly! I must have missed you be minutes, as I could only be there from about 11:15 to 12:15... and I wish I had bought the Slaine wargame, just for nostalgic kicks.

Just as a consumer, I’ve always noticed that the best version of a FW kit is if you get the pre-order. They’re typically near-flawless, compared to one that’s clearly been made much later in the life of the mold. I’ve zero doubt FW runs their molds into the ground.

If you like the vintage style of bolt action, you might like kards on steam. Which is like duel monsters but with ww2 armies, tanks artillery and planes.

One question!! What are the names of those field ordenance looking cannons from bolt action. Could it be a cheap proxy? For either field ordenance or forgeworld tremor cannons. Also, any cheap historical proxies for taurox???

Highly recommend the Judge Dredd game, it has a lot of feeling of the 90s Necromunda, I just wish there were more gang model sculpts.
