IF Alex Hirsch were to allow a continuation of Gravity Falls, Disney NEEDS to give him and his team full creative control with minimal meddling. They have proved capable of letting creative teams shine like the XMEN 97 team and that show is a major audience and critical success. If Disney wants this to succeed, they need to give that same freedom to Alex as there are many notorious examples of their meddling with the original show. That aside, the original show was iconic and for the most part, pretty darn amazing so a continuation will be very welcome.... just accepted cautiously....

One thing I would LOVE to see is storytelling taking place in the 30 years Stanford was gone. We get some hints to what he was up to in Journal 3, but a series following him on his journeys through other dimensions could have a lot of potential: not only for plenty of new stories, but also to help give more context to the stories we already have or to reconceptualize Ford and Bill’s relationship.

Sorry to disappoint, but Alex hasnt said anything about this and the disney executive in the article didnt even say there would be a season 3! All they said was that they were in conversations with Alex and to "never say never." Alex has a deal with netflix right now, so he cant even make a season 3 of Gravity Falls! But there might be some new shorts coming and of course, the book of bill!

As someone who only watched through the whole series this year, I was very disappointed that "See you next Summer" never came true. I can live with things ending, it's a necessary thing, but it's so difficult when there's still so much there to work with, or when the product it's self is teasing more! I hope they go through with this, and I hope it's just as fun as the first season. Maybe I can binge it with my Gravity Falls enthusiast friend.

Fun fact! The original plan for Gravity Falls: Deep Woods was to do Quest for the Northwest, Deep ROOTed MisunderSTANding, and 8 Weirdmageddon shorts as a trial run, and then go to the next summer, where: Stan and Ford found themselves near Time Baby's Antarctic glacier when the summer started, leaving Soos and Melody to take care of Dipper and Mabel until they returned. Shenanigans ensued involving Dipper clones Tracey and Quattro, a wizard who knew of Grembert, a freak snowstorm, a cursed party thrown by Robbie, a Group of Individuals Who Feel Something Is Missing In Their Lives, a police chase, a wrestling tournament, an unnatural flood, and an underground cave excavation. Meanwhile, Stan and Ford made their way north through the Atlantic, and subsequently took a cross country road trip from Glass Shard Beach to Gravity Falls. Then after they released my Weirdmageddon short (the second of the 8), they randomly fired me. And then the entire project crumbled.
